Is it a detachment rule? If so, can they be in the detachment?

Have you read the page which describes how Curse of the Wulfen works?
Read the first sentence of the rule text under 'Curse of the Wulfen' and it will tell you what types of units are affected.
Then read the last sentence of the same paragraph, and it will tell you some specific named units which are not affected.
Then check to see if 'a unit of Iron Priest and 4 cyberwolves' is the correct type of unit to be affected, and whether or not one of the specific named units that are not affected.

I still do not know the answer, cyberwolves are in the listing for a fenrisian wolf unit but are bought as an upgrade for the Iron Priest so I am guessing technically they WOULD get the benefit since its not explicitly a fenrisian wolf unit. Any Help?

Is a unit of Iron Priest with Cyberwolves a unit of Fenrisian Wolves?
No, it's not. It's an Iron Priest unit, made up of one Iron Priest model and four Cyberwolf models.

to answer your question; yes they benefit from the Wulfen tables. They are not Fenrisian Wolves and therefore benefit from both the Hunt and Kill tables.

Unless you stick him into a Wulfen unit as slingshot tank, in which case that unit still is a Wulfen unit and therefore not eligible for the buff itself.
Note that unfortunately the run and charge, reroll charge range and death bonus attack wulfen special rules affect the unit and therefore include an IC that has joined the unit.

For a Wulfen unit, people give the Iron Priest a mount and four pets. That gives him 12" movement range and pets to build a konga line to the 6" mivement Wulfen. At the same time this puts his 2+/3++ in front as first charger and tank.

Iron Priest has a 2+/6++ from his runic armor. If you use a Wolf Lord or a Wolf Guard Battle Leader, you can get a storm shield for a 3++, but they won't bring T5 cyber wolves like the Iron Priest can, they'll only have access to the T4 Fenrisian wolves.

I was under the impression that an Iron Priest can buy a Stromshield for this 3++. Can someone confirm that?

Hmm, I have only the Curse of the Wulfen book. The Iron Priest entry there states that he may buy items from the "Special Issue Wargear List". The Wulfen book just adds some gear for the eponymous Wulfen so I assume the List must be like all other SW stuff in their Codex and that the Stormshield is in that list there.

There is probably a footnote preventing an iron priest from taking storm shields in the wargear list

I have the same codex (electronic edition) and I have the old paper codex. The "Special Issue Wargear List" does not include storm shields (or wolf claws, or power fists, etc) it only includes melta bombs, digital weapons, bikes, and jump packs. In the electronic version you can click the link and it will show you your choices. In the paper version you can thumb to the page with the wargear lists at the very beginning of the Army List Entries section and it will have wargear lists for "Ranged", "Melee", "Special Issue War Gear", "Relics", and so on.

Yeah, the Storm Shield hasn't been part of the Special Issue Wargear section. It has always been on the individual unit's options.
Kind of disappointed in that as my Storm Shield Chaplain can't use his Shield as a Shield without dropping his Pistol or his pistol.
I wouldn't worry about it since I'm on to Necrons now, but I haven't been able get rid of the model (along with 2 Crusader Squads).

I just looked at a store copy of the Space Wolves codex. This was a German version, but it did have the Storm Shield in the Spezielle Ausrüstung Section, which both in translation and function should be the Special Issue Wargear list.
I have to say I'd be very happy to be wrong there, since the Wulfen + IP combo is ridiculously strong even without the Stormshield. Automatically Appended Next Post: Looking at the ebook version of the Codex in English I see what you mean. Special Issue Wargear is only melta boobs, digital weapons, jump pack or bike. AWESOME!

Iron Priests cannot take a Storm Shield. In the Space Wolves Codex and Curse of the Wulfen they can only take Special Issue Wargear. But in the Wolves Codex the Storm Shield is a Melee Weapon choice. Even the Blizzard Shield on the Dreadnought is a melee weapon! Love those Dreads
