has there ever been a case of a Marine chapter being CENSORED for breaking the codex? not "mistrusted" not "looked at with suspicion" but CENSORED.

Penitent crusades happen due to this fairly often, and the Badab War was partially due to old Huron saying "Feth the Codex, I want a Legion."

Penitent crusades happen fairly often yes, but I can't think of any that where made because a chapter had a battle company too many.

and the Badad war did NOT happen because of Huron saying "feth the codex" it happened because he was refusing his gene tithe.

And he was refusing his gene tithe for what reason? To cover the fact he was habouring another chapter, and to use it all himself.

There is also precedent (at least Pre-Heresy) that elevated initiates that aren't needed for that chapter get shipped off to other chapters in need of fresh marines. This happened to a Luna Wolf recruit getting sent to the White Scars to be a marine there. He's one of the central characters to the White Scars HH story arcs.

It wasn't the only thing he was doing though. He was also withholding or intercepting planetary tithes in the sector, using resources to build up his forces both Space Marine and human. The geneseed tithe is only 5% - if he'd not been so greedy he could have kept the AdMech happy and avoided scrutiny for another few hundred years.

Really, not sending in the geneseed tithes only made him get caught earlier.

Which is why my original post said partially due to this. He was an all round bad man, but one thing he did, that I don't think anyone can disagree with, which is the only point I really tried to make in my first post, is that Huron was legion building.
