Obviously in 40k there are different mission types and scenarios... Right?
Just needed to know what said mission types are. I've heard of something called Eternal War and Maelstrom missions. But are there any others? And what do those mission types mean?

I don't have the 7th ed rule book, I'm still playing games out of the 4th ed...

Eternal War and Maelstrom are the two types of mission featured in the main rulebook. There are many other individual scenarios which can be found in campaign supplements and other rules sources.

This section of Dakka is really for specific rules clarifications rather than general questions about rules, and is definitely not a replacement for owning and referring to your own copy of the rules.

Most can be found in supplements, dataslates, and campaign books. There are also a few old books back from the days of 5th Edition like Planet Strike and Battle Missions which also qualify. In the case of the supplements, dataslates, and campaign books, they are usually focused on the Faction(s) involved in the supplement and involve a story from their perspective.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?
