Takes longer to put the paint in it than it would to shake it.

When I'm sitting on my butt painting for hours I hate having to strain my wrist shaking paint pots, so I invented this....
As someone who gets joint and muscle pain related to circulation problems, I can appreciate a good shaker. I tend to paint for shorter periods of time and less colours in a sitting these days, but in the past I've finished a painting session with an aching arm, hand or wrist if a couple of the pots I used that evening required a lot of shaking.
I think the agitator in the OP needs to be mounted to something solid, and me being me I'd probably use a drill as a power source because.....
was hoping it was like a DIY vibration table... still need one for my Hirst arts efforts ^_^
now I'm wondering though if I can get the kids to turn their lego mindstorms set into an agitator thingy! Some of the colours I don't use a lot of the GW stuff are gonna require *hours* of shaking grrr they just don't stay or want to mix
@OP - put your video back up, these young whipper snappers these days don't get it ... we had to shake the pot in the snow walking up to the LGS both ways in the snow - uphill
I am rebuilding my desk tonight, if I get it all done I will put up a video. Each of those bottles has two metal agitators in it, 30 seconds on that thing is 1,500 strokes at 18mm depth - it is noisy as buggery, so I tend to only use it for really difficult paints (or ones I've not used in a few years) but boy does it mix.
I use a converted Dremel Multimax that I picked up back in my carpentry days. It was originally used to flush-cut trim on doors when installing flooring, but 5,000 oscillations per minute will shake up even the worst bottle of paint in a matter of seconds All I did was to wrap a blade in rubber bands, packing tape, and some velcro cable ties (fussy side up). The only negative side effect is that it will also buff the print off the labels, so it's necessary to keep the front of the bottle facing up. It's been used to shake hundreds of bottles over the years and there's never been a mishap.
I checked and you can get them on Amazon for about $60 USD, but I wouldn't buy one unless you had uses in mind that were in line with its intended purpose. It you have one laying around, though, it makes for a far better paint shaker than any I've seen on the market.

Mine may have been 60 bucks but I'd like to see a nail polish shaker hit 5,000 opm (max setting is 10,000 but that gets scary).
How scary is your nail polish shaker? Not at all! I'll also second the KB's sentiment regarding manliness...

You can get a pair of bar clamps for $11 and a cheap jig saw for $30 on Amazon. The nail polish shaker is $36. For the extra five bucks, I think it's worth having a jig saw and bar clamps for terrain purposes.
Congrats KB, Shakeus Maximus wins best value in the DIY paint shaker category!

It's surprisingly better than that. The Jigsaw was $24.97, the clamp was $9.25 (for two). These are dollaridoos too, not ameribux, so my outlay like $20 USD
I'll take a video of it now
