Remember when 40k was about narrative and stuff? Like even Blood Angels VS Templars could be explained 'These Blood Angels are chaotic khorne and stuff' and it'd work but these days it's 'JESUS HOW MANY GRAVCENTS CAN I GET ON THE TABLE OMG HOW MANY StrD SHOTS CAN I FIRE PER TURN AT THAT HALF A MARINE SQUAD' and it really feths me off.
7th works fine in a casual atmosphere for me. Don't know about other people.
7th however, does not work in a competetive atmosphere; I almost think there should be a tournament ruleset that isnt ITC (As in GW) because ITC gaks on tau so much they can't do anything much, despite how much I hate their guts.
So this thread will be about your greatest narratives forged ever.
Let us begin!
Black Templars VS Heralds of Ultramar (Way back in the day of early 7th)
The Black Templars are on a crusade and they come across some daemon cult gak and learn that the Heralds don't know about it, the BT's think the heralds are heretics and kill them.
In that game, a Land Raider got immobilised T1 by a missile launcher in a crevasse
Like this

He then said 'Right your bikes can wallride around the land raider but you roll one dice for each bike, on a 2+, they die, and if they die, on a 4+, the land raider takes a glancing hit.'
he agreed and then his Land Raider and bikes were in smithereens. Rhino rush templars proceeded to fire thunderfires his way by way of drop pod. with the rhinos doing circles and stuff on the wide open space he had.
Wasnt the greatest deployment, but if you can imagine the game in terms of real life, then it is as hilarious as it sounds.
