Best Romulan Admiral to date, Tal would be awesome if they removed that stupid "no free actions" thing, Cloaked Attack will be awesome on my Scimitar, Romulan Tactical Officer is useless (2 points for an Action and discard for a scan token? LOL) and...

Impulse Drive: "You may disable this card to perform a white maneuver if there is an Auxiliary Power Token beside your ship. If you do so, you must still skip your perform action step. No ship may be equipped with more than one Impulse Drive Upgrade." - Non-unique, Romulan Tech, and 2 points. Ladies and gentlemen, we have one of the most broken cards in the game right there. It's not an action, never says when you can or can't use it beyond an Aux Token requirement... Opponent's Combat Phase: "OK, I'm gonna shoot at your Scimitar" "Nope. I have an aux token and I'm going to disable my Impulse Drive and move right out of your fire arc..."

What where they thinking when they made this card?!?!?! I'll probably buy three of these ships so every fleet I run from now on has an Impulse Drive on it.

Heck, Pavel Checkov- "You can remove one aux token after performing a white maneuver". Or even the Tinyprise that's able to perform actions even with an aux token.

Incoming Nerf to this card in 3,2,1...

This is the ship fleet-pure Romulan players have been waiting for for quite some time.

I am 100% sure impulse drive is meant to only be played in the activation phase. But wizkids sloppy wording leaves it open to abuse.
Certainly if anyone tried to use this at any time other than when activating the ship it was on I'd be having an argument with them.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

My Thoughts:

The Ship: the Ability is not bad, though I would be much more excited if it was on a ship with a 180 degree arc, but even still, it's pretty solid.

The Admiral: HOLY JEBUS... She is STELLAR. Really wish multiple ships could execute the Admiral's fleet action, but with this lovely lady on the field... I can see how broken it would be.

The Captain: As Tamwulf said, this card is good, but could have been great. Still, not a bad Captain.

Command Pod: I am a tad bit underwhelmed with this one. It's a 4 point discard to negate a single die result. We have reinforced hull plating from the Drone that costs 3 points, and is a Disable... a bit more cost effective.

Cloaked Attack: This seems best used against fleets boasting high captain skill, used by a low skill captain. That way, you get to keep your cloak, take the shots aimed at you, then, drop the cloak, move into range 1, add +2 attack dice, and BAM... Dead Defiant.

Romulan Technical Officer: The disable kind of makes this guy "Meh" in my opinion, but its still not a bad card. You are basically paying 2 points to add the Scan action to your action bar.

Impulse Drive: As someone on the FB page said, this card is either BROKEN or is completely worthless. As of now, Ships can still perform White maneuvers, but they sacrifice their action for that round. So, at first glance this card looks pointless... But since it never specifies WHEN it activates, it has a lot of room for abuse.

"I aim to misbehave"
"I find your lack of faith, disturbing."
"There's too many of them..." *static*

Then I would cite this reference from the Wizkids Tournament FAQ:

#47: When a card states it may be played or used at any time or does not list when it may be used, It may only be used between the phases of each round.

http://wizkids.com/attackwing/star-trek-attack-wing-rules-for-tournaments/

Impulse Drive CLEARLY does not state WHEN you can use it, only that you must have an Aux Token next to your ship.

There is no doubt that it's a poorly worded card, and right now, it's one of the most powerful cards in the game, or it can be one of the most useless.

Now, the card is used during the movement phase and you have to have an aux token already. Then you make a white maneuver, disable the card, skip the action step and then lose an aux token. Useless card now.

Thanks WORF for your quick, and timely action!

WORF has already chimed in on 3 cards from the pack.

In all it's a good pack. Livianna and Tal add some good abilities to the faction. The ship will be fun in TOS games, but beyond that I don't see it doing much against TNG ships. Let's face it we don't see many Klingon D7s or Romulan BoP which are the same cost. Just too brittle in the TNG era. But this game is about more than OP fights to the death. Algeron will have a place in my TOS fleet and I'm many others.

As for the rest of the pack now that we have a ruling on how Impulse Drive works there really isn't a bad card in here. In faction pure Impulse Drive has a place to shed unwanted Aux Tokens. Cloaked Attack screams to be placed under Shinzon.

Command Pod is a little pricey but not the worst discard I've seen.

Technical Officer isn't bad either. 2 points for a disable to add an action to your bar can be nice. He goes well with the Livianna that came in the Vorta Vor, she can roll a die and keeps a crew from disabling on a BS IIRC.

So in all a good pack. It adds something to a faction without breaking the fame or being over priced.

Wonder if the model will have the bird of prey design on the bottom - or if the klingon symbol on the undercarraige will be shaved off or replaced...

Confirmed as the klingon symbol... It's the exact same K'tinga class sculpt. Ah well, at least the bridge is the right way round and the nacelles are pointing in the right direction.

Personally I suggest just replacing all D7s with either a smaller shapeways to distinguish them from the K'tingas or get your mitts on the Micromachines version, with it's nice smooth surfaces.

Ah well, I was hoping at least for the Romulan bird. Luckily, I do have some of those old micromachines, and a sheet of printable decal paper ought to solve my issues.

It is a shame, it still a great pack. To distinguish my D7s from K'Tingas I use the greenish medels for D7s and the B'Moth model for K'Tingas.
