Please tell me if I am wrong, but If I read the rules for it, and for psychic powers correctly, then I could give it to a chaos lord with the mark of tzeentch that is in the same unit as a lv.3 sorcerer, than the sorcerer can use the powers that the lord generates.

I don't see how you can reach that conclusion. It says the
bearer gains the power.

in the psychic power section, it says the psyker can use any power that the unit knows

The bearer does gain the power. However, RAW*, psykers in the same unit don't need to know the power in order to cast it.

The gaming group that I (sometimes) play at simply ignores that bit. At a guess, most clubs house-rule the psychic phase to a large extent. However, if you really want to play RAW, and your club agrees with you, sure.
Just be aware that playing RAW is a double-edged sword. If you argue that character A can cast a spell only known by Character B (as they're part of the same unit), you'll also have to accept that if Character A tries to cast a spell, Character B won't be able to use the same spell that phase.

*Well.... kind of. I suppose you could argue that the unit doesn't know the spell - it's only a member of the unit that knows it. If a character has Rending, can you say that the unit has Rending?

EDIT: Huh, followers of Tzeentch are forum-ninjas? This explains so much! Or not.

"Unit" in the psychic phase refers to "psychic unit" which is dfft than "tabletop unit".

A psychic unit is an IC with the Psyker USR, or a unit with the BoP/S USR. At least that's what makes the most sense and is the only way to play without having the game break at several stages.

I agree that this is the best way to play it. It's very likely that this is the RAI. However, RAW explicitly says the opposite (and hence leads to utterly ridiculous results).

As with so many other cases, you'll have to talk it over with your opponent before the game.
