Good morning! I've just gotten three colors on an AdMech Cohort Cybernetica formation and I'm looking forward to playing it. Specifically there's a nearby ITC tournament Memorial Day weekend. They haven't yet decided on the new Space Marine psychic powers, but I'm bringing a Culexus just in case.

++ Cult Mechanicus: Codex (2015) (Formation Detachment) (790pts) ++

Cohort Cybernetica (790pts)
··Kastelan Robot Maniple
····Cybernetica Datasmith [Conversion field]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
··Kastelan Robot Maniple
····Cybernetica Datasmith [Conversion field]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
··Tech-Priest Dominus [Autocaduceus of Arkhan Land, Conversion field, Macrostubber, Volkite blaster]
Since this is a rare formation: All three of these units act as one unit and they do not give up their 3 kill points until they're all dead. Instead of shooting, any of the three characters can redirect one robot's fire at another unit. This means the four robots can each fire six S6 AP3 shots at four separate units; they're only BS3 but half of those shots are twin-linked. The characters have 2+/4++ saves and the unit is T7 with a total of 18 Wounds. This unit usually walks up the center of the board firing at everything and charging anything that dares come close.

This Tech-Priest is often my Warlord because he's so hard to kill. There's other good relics, but the Autocadeceus is the best: it gives the entire unit It Will Not Die.

++ Dark Angels: Codex (2015) (Combined Arms Detachment) (920pts) ++
These Dark Angels are just aiming to claim objectives while the Giant Killer Robots dominate the center of the board with their shooting.

Sapphon - Interrogator-Chaplain (135pts) [Auspex]
··Power Armour [Bolt Pistol, Crozius Arcanum, Space Marine Bike]
I didn't want a Librarian because I'm bringing a Culexus. Always buy an Auspex.

+ Elites (275pts) +

Ravenwing Command Squad (275pts) [6x Black Knight, Nephriel - Ravenwing Apothecary, Ravenwing Grenade Launcher, Zaelion - Ravenwing Champion]
Best unit in the Dark Angel Codex.

+ Troops (355pts) +

Scout Squad (55pts) [4x Close combat weapons, 4x Scouts]
··Scout Sergeant [Bolt Pistol, Chainsword]

Tactical Squad (125pts) [Meltagun, 4x Tactical Marine]
··Drop Pod [Storm Bolter]
··Sergeant [Chainsword, Combi-Melta]

Tactical Squad (175pts) [Plasmagun, 4x Tactical Marine]
··Sergeant [Chainsword, Combi-Plasma]
··Vintage - Razorback [Dozer blade, Lascannon and Twin Linked Plasmagun]
The triumvurate of Space Marine Objective Secured: One Scouts, one drop pod, one mechanized. I know a Rhino may be more competitive, but I wanted to use my Razorback I painted two decades ago.

+ Fast Attack (155pts) +

Ravenwing Black Knights (120pts) [2x Black Knight]
··Huntmaster [Corvus Hammer]
Often Outflanking

Assassin Transport - Rhino (35pts) [Storm Bolter]
Do y'all think a Drop Pod is better than a Rhino for the Culexus?

++ Officio Assassinorum: Dataslate (2014) (Officio Assassinorum Detachment) (140pts) ++

Culexus Assassin
Never leave home without one. ITC tones down Invisibility but Psychic shenanigans are still a thing.

I know I can't compete for the top tables but I hope to break even. What should I watch out for?

Q: Can units that are Battle Brothers embark in each other’s Transport vehicles during deployment?
A: No.
welp

I playtested the above list against the nastiest ITC army my friend could build: sword and board Wraithknight, five units of scatterbikes, aspect warriors, etc. It was a great game, tied until I lost with the last dice roll in turn 7, but the Tactical Squads were a real weak point. And the assassin probably can't Rhino around anymore after that FAQ.

I also saw that Divination would _really_ supercharge the Cohort Cybernetica. So here's a new roster with two Librarians and Ravenwing and it feels pretty mean.

Cult Mechanicus Cohort Cybernetica Formation (820pts)
··Kastelan Robot Maniple
····Cybernetica Datasmith [Conversion field, Raiment of Technomartyr]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
··Kastelan Robot Maniple
····Cybernetica Datasmith [Conversion field]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
··Tech-Priest Dominus [Autocaduceus of Arkhan Land, Conversion field, Macrostubber, Volkite blaster]
Only change here was adding the BS2 Snap Shot relic to counter things like deathstars.

++ Dark Angels: Codex (2015) (DA Ravenwing Strike Force) (1030pts) ++

Ravenwing Attack Bike Squad (55pts)
··Ravenwing Attack Bike [Multi-Melta]

Ravenwing Attack Bike Squad (55pts)
··Ravenwing Attack Bike [Multi-Melta]

Ravenwing Black Knights (165pts) [3x Black Knight, Ravenwing Grenade Launcher]
··Huntmaster [Corvus Hammer, Melta Bomb]

Ravenwing Black Knights (160pts) [3x Black Knight, Ravenwing Grenade Launcher]
··Huntmaster [Corvus Hammer]

Ravenwing Darkshroud (80pts) [Heavy Bolter]

Ravenwing Command Squad (275pts) [6x Black Knight, Nephriel - Ravenwing Apothecary, Ravenwing Grenade Launcher, Zaelion - Ravenwing Champion]
These units were the core of my Adepticon list and I think they'll do well here to compliment the giant killer robots. ITC nerfs their Stealth Jink reroll down to 2+/4+ but they're still so much more durable than Tactical Squads.

Note that in some matchups the robots are tough enough to survive themselves turn 1 and then all 1030 points of Ravenwing Outflank on turn 2. I'm not sure what matchups that's helpful tho. Null-deploy Drop Pod armies?

Librarian (125pts) [Auspex]
··Power Armour [Bolt Pistol, Force Axe, Shroud of Heroes, Space Marine Bike]
··Psyker [Level 2]

Librarian (115pts) [Auspex]
··Power Armour [Bolt Pistol, Force Axe, Space Marine Bike]
··Psyker [Level 2]
Yeah I know most people would recommend a White Scars Conclave but I can't bring myself to do that. These guys will usually roll on Divination first then maybe Telepathy second. Even if they only end up with Prescience and Psychic Shriek, that buffs the bots and counters the few things that threaten them.

So what do y'all think? Are Ravenwing more competitive than mechanized Objective Secured Troops?

Do I need the Culexus (on foot) or are two Librarians and BS2 Overwatch enough to protect the robots from deathstars?

so the 4robots and 2 datasmiths move together as 1 unit? or can they deploy separately?

Would you put anymore robots in that formation?

They must be fielded as one unit. Each of the three characters can direct the fire of one robot at a different target, so at full strength the unit can fire at four targets (and then charge any of them.) Also they don't give up their 3 Kill Points until every model is gone.

No, no I think 800 points is enough for one unit! The rest of the army must compete for the objectives.

Thank you for commenting!

Yes, that's part of why I changed my list. Maybe I should update the first post?

We played another practice game Tuesday, this time with the new Ravenwing list above. Those Black Knights bring so much fire! And the rerollable jink makes them about as durable as the robots against shooting. Eldar got tabled in turn 6.

Thanks for everyone's feedback! I brought this to today's Nashcon ITC tournament. Only six people showed up so I ended up in 2nd place after winning all three games! Here's some pics and notes from event: http://imgur.com/a/v55mN

I don't think this list needs any big changes. I know two Grey Knights and War Convocation are not a wide variety of opponents, but it sure worked well against them. Still thinking about swapping one Librarian for a Culexus?
