Hey there guys, I fight a lot of grey knights and I'm getting tired of 2++ saves from psychic powers, any ideas for dealing with it? Just lots of MSU fire? Ignoring the units and going for objectives? Something else? It's really cooking my goose.

What are you currently doing and what are you currently running?

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.

It may not be a 2++ but 3+ 3++ 4+ FNP can be almost as annoying on some sword and board lychguard, chuck in an orb lord and maybe a solar stuff to rub it in their face. While they lock them in combat have some good ol tomb blades zippin about gettin all those sweet objectives.

The only way for Grey Knights to get 2++ is with Draigo and Sanctuary. Which means a Deathstar. Which means you can ignore it and kill everything else. Play to the objectives, use fast units.

You can always convert up an Imperial Culexus Assassin to look like a very angry flayed one but I assume you ljust want to run Necrons on their own without allies and without playing ITC or other house rules you can't kill them.

Before i continue I need to preface this with the fact that I do not play as Necrons but you can tie up those really strong/ resilient deathstars with a plethora of fearless / tough to kill units. I've seen players run a number of tomb spyders and quite literally farm unending amounts of scrabs that their opponent's couldn't do anything about, the nercons then proceeded to capture every objective on the table...

Probably not a great tactic against force weapons but Wraiths can really stop units dead in their tracks. As I've said, I don't play as Necrons but I've played against them with 2+ rerollable saves with my Seer Council and without hit and run I've been punished... having 600+ points locked up in a combat for 4 turns is never a good investment.

Wouldn't a deathstar like that just Gate away if engaged by fearless tarpits?

on the forum. Obviously

3rd ed warscythes.

I find it amusing that they get rid of weapons that ignore invuls, and then introduce unit wide 2+ invuls. They never learn.

But yeah, don't bother fighting it, and try to get objectives instead.
See the 2+ invul cheese unit as a tank (as in the RPG / moba tank, not the vehicle). You never focus the tank, you kill everything around it.

They can teleport out of combat? But that was our gimmick :(
fething games workshop, taking our gimmicks and giving it to the imperials.

Remember when our monolith used to ignore melta? Now only Imperials can do that with Ceramite plating (iirc. Something like that)
Like, high tech adaptive armor can't shrug off melta, but fancy clay can? Wut?

There is also the option of saturation. Just take as many warriors as you can and gauss them into the ground, or go for a full compliment of tesla weaponry.

As your enemy improves his saves, you should improve your rate of fire. High strength, low AP adn rate of fire weapons are exactly the kind of armament he wants you to shoot at him. S6-7 are the sweet spot in this game because many weapons with this characteristic have a great rate of fire.

Also, go for the objectives. Generally, focusing too much in saves reduces your model count and takes away your capability to capture objectives. Having fast units to go there is important too. Tomb Blades are your best bet here, I'd say.
