Thanks for the review. I like the idea they believe themselves to be noble Knights. Is there any artwork of how they perceive themselves?

Definitely agree a big piece showing their visions of themselves mixed with reality is missing, but saw this on FB, a tidbit:

Amazing! Thanks for posting. This is a really cool piece.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Ordered the Vlagorescu box. I know those things are surprisingly limited, missed my chance on the Heldrath kit before.

What's that Dwarven face in the background?

Isn't that just a statute or carving on the ceiling?

*edit*

Ok not a carving on the ceiling, it's a statute, you can see it has arms, so a giant Dwarf statue, like you see the Space Marines have.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

The perspective doesn't necessarily make sense but sort of looks like the Chaos Dreadhold in the background with the rows of skulls on the wall.

Edit: Realized I was talking about a different pic.

Good review, saved me some cash, I will be sticking with battletome death and still pretending the fluff doesnt exist.

The battle pictured takes place in a shrine of Grimnir, with that massive satue overlooking the Duardin vs Skaven vs The Flesh Eaters .

Got to take a shot at some of the names on the Flesh-Eater Court Flow Chart, though. It looks like they took them verbatim from an internet name generator. Illcreep? Slumcrawl? Filchlurk? Think they missed a trick here; these guys wouldn't name their packs things like Glugspew or Slopcraw, they think they're noble knights and doughty salt-of-the-earth peasants and so forth. It should have been Sir Tarrymore's Retainers or the Oath-Sworn Five, stuff like that.

I also was a bit bothered by the names--HOWEVER, I got around the decidedly un-knightly names once I realized that, from a fluff perspective, the Flesh-Eater Courts are probably not putting out tomes on each other. The data on the Flesh-Eater Courts is probably being collected by scholars from Azyr, so they are probably assigning names based on limited info (monikers given by what few survivors evade a Court, how they carry out attacks, where they've struck, etc.) And I suppose Liverbelch is as good a name as any, after all! But I know when I'm fielding these guys I'll probably come up with two names for the Court--what their enemies will call them, and what their crazy-ass egos imagine themselves to be!

Go nuts! They sure did....

I got the electronic version of this book through the AoS app just because the idea intrigued me. I agree that the artwork in here is really good and the fluff and rules are interesting enough that I'm looking seriously at buying the "King Vlagorescu's Ghoulish Host" box set after I get paid this week. I was never really wild about the gothic/horror film vibe of the Vampire Counts army, but to me this is sufficiently distinct that I find myself really liking it.

FWIW, if I do buy the box set, this will actually be the first GW fantasy miniature purchase I've made since AoS was released.
