Haven't played in a while and have a small intro game coming up against an experienced player who is also playing vanilla marines. This is what I've come up with. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Firespear Formation

HQ: Terminator Captain PS/SB

Troop: Tac squad w/ ML/MG combat squaded Srgt. has Melta bombs with Razorback w/ TW assault Cannon

Elite: Ven. Dread w/ TL Las & TL Autocannon

Formation total: 515 pts

10th Company Task Force Formation

X5 Scouts w/ Camo cloaks and sniper rifles

X5 Scouts w/ Camo cloaks and snipers and ML

X5 Scouts w/ Camo cloaks and bolters and HB with Hellfire shells

Formation Total: 232 pts

Army Total: 747pts

Well, I'm not too familiar with that first formation and it's requirements, but I wouldn't use Terminator armour on him. He won't be able to join the Tac squad if they're in a Razorback, and he won't be getting close to the enemy with the Scouts. If you want the CC Captain desperatly, give him Artifacer armour, PS and SS, and have him in the Razorback.

Also, the Scouts really should all have Bolters, since Bolter Drill is quite good and snipers aren't really what they once were on Scouts.

The Venerable dread has a pretty good loadout, but I think you'll get away with just using a regular Dread with all the TL.

Finally, from one CF player to another, good luck on your game.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me! Believe in the Dakka who believes in you!

Firespear requires a TDA Captain. I imagine he is going to sit back and camp with the ML Tacticals and the Van Dread so they can double tap all their weapons.
I am not a huge fan of Heavy Weapons on Tactical Squads, especially when it comes to Fists since our Devastators are good.
Your scouts don't play to the strengths of the Fists besides your Bolter crew. In fact, much of your army doesn't play to the strengths. Would actually be better as basically any other chapter besides Black Templars.

So do you think I should scrub the list and use a CAD instead? I think you're absolutely right about swapping all my snipers for bolters. I just lo the look lol.

You could do a Firespear and a CAD with a Librarian and two Scout Squads packing Bolters.

In your opinions, would bringing a Land Raider Crusader be a dick move in a 750pt game?

It would be a giant bullet magnet. It also isnt that hard to take down. Melta, Haywire, Lance, and Cause all make short work of LRs.
