Hey guys,

Revamp of an old Terror Assault list I've been thinking about:

Night Lords Terror Assault 2000 (2000pts)
Legiones Astartes: Crusade Army List (Age of Darkness)

HQ
Damocles Command Rhino
Legion Praetor

Artificer Armour, Iron Halo, Melta Bombs, Paragon Blade
Master of the Legion
Terror Assault

Troops
Terror Squad
9x Executioner, Legion Drop Pod, 10x Volkite Charger
Headsman
Artificer Armour, Melta Bombs, Nostraman Chainglaive

Terror Squad
9x Executioner, Legion Drop Pod, 10x Volkite Charger
Headsman
Artificer Armour, Melta Bombs, Nostraman Chainglaive

Terror Squad
8x Executioner, Legion Drop Pod, 9x Volkite Charger
Headsman
Artificer Armour, Nostraman Chainglaive

Elites
Contemptor-Cortus Class Dreadnought Talon
Cortus Dreadnought
Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon with inbuilt twin-linked bolter, 2x Graviton Gun, Legion Dreadnought Drop Pod

Legion Terminator Squad
Cataphractii Terminator Armour with Combi-bolter and Power Weapon, Chainfist, 4x Combi-Weapon, 4x Legion Terminators, Teleportation Transponder
Legion Terminator Sergeant
Combi-Weapon, Power Fist

Heavy Support
Leviathan Siege Dreadnought Talon
Leviathan Siege Dreadnought
Cyclonic Melta Lance, Legion Dreadnought Drop Pod, Leviathan Siege Drill, 2x Twin-linked Volkite Caliver

Legion
Legion Astartes
Traitor, VIII: Night Lords

The Praetor goes with the 9-man Terror Squad. Leviathan, Contemptor and Praetor's squad come down first, with the two Dreads hopefully mauling any nasty vehicles the enemy may have. Hopefully the Damocles bombardment will soften up a target of opportunity for the Terror Squads too. It will hide behind cover so as not to die and will hopefully allow the Terminators to come in and melta something turn 2.

One question though: should I replace the Terminators with a Kraken Lightning? The reason I opted for Terminators, aside from theme, was that they are hopefully a big enough distraction that my Terror Squads will have time to get into melee.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Unfortunately with the new FAQ as it stands now since it will likely change, the Praetor cannot deploy anymore with the Terror squad since they have infiltrate despite the fact they are podding in. Until the FAQ is live you and I both are good, I run Sevatar with the same squad except I run the squad for hand to hand. You might want to give him terminator armor and DS in with the termies.

It always amazes me how small legion forces are even though I have been playing them for almost four years now. As small as your force is, I think it will do ok.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Sevatar is the good choice, the termiers with DS will always be a very nasty surprise

A question: wouldn't it be more interesting to have 3 pods? The two dreadnoughts can arrive faster, no?

Sevatar isn't as good as a regular Praetor, he doesn't have AP2 and can be insta-deathed by a Paragon Blade quite easily. His Warlord trait is also terrible. At least he does get the Atramentar perk, which is basically his "real" trait.

It's a shame about the infiltrate thing, even though it doesn't really make sense, but them's the breaks.

There's 5 Pods (1 for each Terror Squad).

Fortunately in Terror Assault you can at least put Sevie in with a hand to hand vet squad in a drop pod so all options aren't completely out of the window. Its not an active FAQ yet either so the old(correct) way still works for now.

The old way didn't work either, as it was a bunch of legalese chicanery. The FAQ enforces the rules as written, much like the grenade change.
