Good morning all. I am working on my next HH army and wanted to get some CC on it. Currently, all that has been ordered unit wise is Sevatar, the tacticals, Night Raptors and one of the Contemptors.

I am starting with my night lords, so I may not have all the key to answer, but I have some questions:

1/ Why not giving some power weapon to the raptor?

2/ Curze comes with a Raptor unit or with the termies?

3/ why not taking talon dreadnought in pod to send them in the enemy lines?

4/ don't you think 3 units of raptor may be better than 2 and a tactical squad?

1/ The Huntsman and two additional Raptors have chain glaives, so three per squad.

2/ Undecided at this time. Any recommendations? I was looking at using the Terminators to teleport assault where ever Sevatar requires them.

3/ I went with Contemptor Mortis pattern dreadnoughts for some standoff antitank and anti-aircraft fire power.

4/ Three full squads of Raptors, WRT points, are expensive. I like large squads in my Legion lists, so three smaller ten Raptor squads does not appeal to me, and three full squads was way to many points. hence, the Tactical squad. I really enjoy tactical squads; cheap, Fury of the Legion and numbers to back it.

Still unsure of the Chaplain. I would really like a Primus Medicae to back up Sevatar when I attach him to the tacticals. Maybe the special character. Does anyone have any play time with him?

The more I play with the list, the more I notice the lack of direct, long range anti-armour weapons.

Are the Contemptors going to be enough? I think pushing Curze down to my alternate/ Primarch list would give me the points needed for some more units. But what? Fast units, medium armour?

Did you think using leviathan dreadnought?

I have seen other list using them, but I don't know if they are good for this kind of list.

I did not really give the Leviathan much thought. They seem extremely tough, good mid range shooting and very stabby. But very point heavy.

Is it a good trade off for Curze?

kitted out right (and assuming you get the charge) the thing can solo knights and certain primarchs, however don't discount Curze, he can be a very strong force multiplier and marine/terminator shredder

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

honestly i would drop the 2 dreads and pick up a spartan with flare shield, armored ceramite and dozer to transport the terminators . same firepower and better survivability and should have a few points left over.

That would be a massive waste imo. It's only 5 terminators, AND night lord terminators can deep strike.

or you can transport the 15 doods running on foot and use the saved points to give those terminators combi weapons and teleporters. you should even have enough pts left over to give them CCW

I have a Spartan in my XII Legion, and it does work well. I do not want to use the Spartan as my "go to" Legion vehicle.

I am pro-Mortis, as they fill a great dual role. Curze looks extremely lethal, but at that point cost I might be able to sub in two, maybe three other units.

Leviathan seems like a brute, but another point heavy unit.

only problem is i think 3 units of 11 would cost more than your 2 of 15

Correct. The jump Chaplain or Primus Medicae reads like a sound idea. That might be a plan.

Curze and the primus medicae join a unit of night raptors together while sevetar joins the tactical blob in the spartan. Other than that, its pretty much the same idea as what you already had.

I really want to avoid another Spartan. Like, really, really want to avoid playing with another.

I have came into possession of a Fire Raptor gunship. For games that I do not want to use Curze, I plan on putting this in. The still leaves me with about 200pts. Do I increase the terminators to a full ten marine squad, or would I better off lookin at another unit?

I was looking at increasing the terminators, but the Apothecary blob would be nice. Maybe two Primus Medicae w/ jump packs to add into the Night Raptors, and a Legion Apothecary.

I usually advance my Dreadnoughts with my dismounted units. So they are not always sitting in the outfield.

Did you have a recommendation on where to better appropriate the points?

i always feel over night lord players don't run spam/deathstars as much as i thought (as i run spam and death star)

i most of the time run Konrad in a 15 man Night Raptor unit with 10 chain glaves, 5 lighting claws, and melta guns, and witht this is run a Preator with a master crafred power fist, and digital laser (to get max attacks and do a lot of dmg in CQC), and with the preator a centurion Lib or a Vilagtor. (some times a command squad with power fists as a back up deathstar for my bat mans)

then i spam out dreads, 1 talon of dreads being
: 1 multi melta, built in melta
: 2 plasma cannons, built in melta

And a competor, most of the time its a mortis with dual multi meltas

for range i always bring;
Plasma Pred (because who doesn't love a 3 shot plasma cannon that dont get hot)
Melta tank (kit out with Aux drive, dozer blade, so you can go places
and a Laser Ventactor (because a sniper tank is very good)

Troops i just bring 2 15 man tacs

that all of the top of my head

and im mostly 90% GW which is gr8
Gw night lord upgrade kits
Gw raptors as Night raptors
preds as preds
All converted HQ and other goods

Just assembled my first Contemptor, 30 Night Raptors and Sevatar. Also made a conversion on the new Night Lords character in Vol. 6. Have fifteen tacticals to assemble, but need bases.

I do like the Mixed Predator Sqn idea. I would maybe go plasma, Melta and flame.
