Hey mates, as it stands I have a BT army with 40k models and I just started collecting a number of Betrayal at Calth Marines for my 30k army. And after debating, I opted to paint them and run them as the Luna Wolves as I am a fan of there fluff before the became the Sons of Horus, as well as the Luna Wolves final stand against the traitors of there Legions. With that being said, when using them in 40k games, which Chapter Tactics or Army Rules would fit them best in your opinion? Fluff with them is being an aggressive, hard hitting army so there are a few options for that.

Welcome fellow Luna Wolves player! Death to the Arch Traitor.

So that said, I personally run them as either Ultramarines or White Scars with the Scar Blade strike force, or Carcaradhons.

"I was never a Son of Horus. I was and remain a Luna Wolf. A proud son of Cthonia, a loyal servant of the Emperor."

Recasts are like Fight Cub. No one talks about it, but more people do it then you realize.

Armies.
Luna Wolves 4,000 Points
Thousand Sons 4,000 Points.

Space Sharks. BT don't work to well because you don't get any Librarians and you know... you need those.

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.

Tactically, they were very sound, using the right tool for the job. Ultramarines would make sense.

They were also known for making lightning fast raids to cut-off the head of the snake (kill the HQ/Leadership), so White Scars might make sense, too.

Appreciate it mate lol. Since your a Veteran, any suggestions from you on what would be effective? Also do you prefer to use the Mark III FW Space Marines or the Mark IV Betrayal at Calth Space Marines for your infantry? Any pics of your Army would be awesome as well.

MKIII is best MK!

The BaC MKIV are fine, though.

Going MKIV mainly due to the fact it is easier to get models for them quickly and effectively. With that being said, from looking at other sources and checking out Chapter Tactics and Special Rules, this is what I have gathered:

* White Scars: Aggressive, fast moving army that can get into your opponents face quickly and effectively, plus got a big buff woth the new supplement books.

* Space Sharks: Pretty brutal in CC, has the makings of a fun and hard hitting army.

* Ultramarines/Imperial Fists/Salamanders: Both are very good depending if I want to utilize Bolters, Tactics, or Meltas and Flamers with various formations.

* Space Wolves: Pretty obvious what's good about them lol.

* Blood Angels: Great CC units, hard hitting army with a lot of Melta and Flamer goodness to go around for everyone.

Other then that, not sure what other routes I could go unless anyone knows of other Forgeworld Chapter Tactics that would be good for them to do an army.
