I've found that Cogsmith, Deathbringer with Impaler, and Warden King deal solid damage.

But the Slaughter Priest with Axe and his ability to heal when he kills is my favorite.

I've otherwise been using Bloodsecrator as my buffer.

Haven't tried the rest yet. What's your favorites?

I'm also a fan of the slaughterpriest, lord of chaos, wight king, lord castellant, the assassin, and the Saurus old blood (gotta love draconum/dragonborn type heroes!!). I have found that they all are massive damage dealers and play great. The Saurus doesn't do as well, but I play him for visual aesthetics, using a custom old blood I had.

We haven't bought any of the app ones. Will just wait for when they come in the box sets since I don't own any. My favorite is the dark elf rogue. Really can do massive burst and kill that one tough enemy fast, plus a board wide teleport is super good to get out of bad situations or get the alpha strike on.

Least favorite is the barbarian as his renoun trigger really never goes off. Needs tons of luck to get it

I haven't played much yet or seen many, but I liked using the mystweaver and questor. The dwarf beserker from what I've seen is pretty good at clearing rooms by himself too.

cogsmith has been really strong. The nurgle character from the White Dwarf was doing okay, but you need high rolls for everything on him. Gonna pick up the Lord of Chaos, Assasin and Necromancer soon-ish.

Yeah, per 455pwr - that Chaos Lord is a beast too.

I think I'm going to stick with the SlaughterPriest for killy heals, the Chaos Lord or Warden King for straight damage and tanking, and the Bloodsecrator or Knight Heraldor for buffs but who still have a solid 1+ attack.

The Cogsmith and Deathbringer, I had originally thought I liked but it's hard to get them Renown compared to the former.

What issue is the Lord of Plagues from?

Ahhh ok haha. Thought I missed it.

I hope they stick to that. A hero every book or every other is cool. Maybe throw some enemies in there also.

WD 121 May 21 has the Lord of Plagues for Silver Tower.

Edit - there are also some interesting synergies. One lopsided but interesting one is:

Knight Azyros + Knight Venator / Cogsmith / Necromancer

I really quite like the Tzeentch Sorcerer Lord but my god the Stormcast are crazy powerful. They deal crazy damage and tank damage. The Shard is awesome as his free action roll of a 6 allows his teleport to trigger and double damage. I like them all honestly!

I'm finding the ideal team consists of the archetypes - healer, crowd control (stun), tank (to take hits as closest to mobs), buffer and dps.

Better yet, heroes that can play dual roles well.

To that end my group has more or less settled on the Lord Castellan (stun, heal and secondary melee dps), Priest (heal and aoe dps), Runemaster (armor buff and aoe dps), Warden (tank, secondary melee stun and primary melee dps).

Sometimes though we swap out the Runemaster for the Chaos Lord for more dps or the Slaughterpriest. And sometimes we use the Necromancers Skeles to take hits.

6 heroes with cards and models in the box.

4 other heroes with rules but not cards nor models in the box (unless you got the limited holo cards with include these 4).

37 other heroes from the app.

1 additional hero rules from WD (Nurgle Lord).

1 additional hero card from preorder (Bright Wizard).

Ok, finding that Nurgle Plague Lord always being able to Regenerate at 1+ is quite Tanky too.

Really? We felt like that ability was quite weak. We didn't have any scenario where we had 2 ones and two wounds on him. So usually just used a two or a three to heal the second wound anyways.

You're right! We were mistaken in thinking the Regen 1+, 2+, 3+ was per Game and not per Turn. I guess we were playing on "hard mode" j/k.

But then it does beg the question of why even have 3+ Regen (or so forth)?

Because you can use the purple dice.

So if your capped at 4 wounds , you get no dice, you need a 1,2,3,4 on the purple dice to heal fully.

You can heal as much as you have the dice for

Our group used the plaguelord and hes very tanky, the 1+ always has come into play a ton
