You don't know me son, so I'll explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

Those models are simply stunning.
The infantry and especially HQ looks beyond flawless.
Only thing i want to critcize is the drop pods that give an awkvard melting appearance the way they are shaded.

Overall impression is still stunningly good though

I agree with Fayric. The models themselves are wonderful but some of the shading just looks odd and lacking depth, such as the Pods and Rhino searchlights.

Looks like a modern, professionally painted 40K force. I wouldn't call it a huge army by any stretch of the imagination. Nice work and I'm sure worth the price.

Doesn't hit me in the feels, but it's nicely done.

Meh,... I love ultramarines but these lack something. You can tell somehow that no love went into this work.

What the !?

I'm not fan of the smurfs but this work is genuinely good. Not sure I understand your comment here.

Kudos to the painter for a job well done and I hope that whoever commissioned this work is pleased with it.

Some people what? Might not like everyones work?

I am not criticizing Den of Imagination's obvious talent, but I can, and I am sure you can tell too that this work doesn't have any personality or character that someone might pour into their own personal army. Every model is assembly line, nothing stands out, not even the characters.

You're right - these models are devoid of personality and individual flare.

That's perfectly in-character for the Ultra-smurfs. They are the most bland, unappealing chapter in the game and are written to be exactly that.

Not sure what you expected from this? did you want to see them look different somehow? Less 'ultra'?. Adding the character you think they lack would make them something else entirely.

Now, to be clear, I am not saying that you have to like these models. If you don't like them that is entirely within your rights - but don't be a douchebag and chalk it up to 'lack of character' or some other non-quantifiable meta-attribute just to be negative. The painting here is nothing short of superb and your negative commentary serves no purpose.

I think the techniques and paint here are solid, but I think this army is very confused on what it wants to be.. and I have a feeling that is not Den of Imagination's fault.

Is this a 40k army? -- Why is Guilliman there?

Per the Codex Astartes, Tanks are to be individually numbered and decorated, these tanks are identical and only marked to show that they belong to 2nd company? Same with Dreads..

All of the banners are literally identical, even between the 2 identical Forgeworld Contemptor Dreads, They don't even have different squad markings or one difference in paint

Why are the sergeants carrying the vexillas? That is definitely not their role...

There are a lot more things I want to point out but don't want to keep nitpicking.

If this is supposed to be a 30k army then there is a whole other list of issues.

As I stated I think the techniques and colors are great and well practiced, the army itself and some choices made just ruin the overall image of the army for me.

"You are like a son and together we have all but conquered the galaxy. Now the time has come for me to retire to Terra. My work as a soldier is done and now passes to you for I have great tasks to perform in my earthly sanctum. I name you Warmaster and from this day forth all of my armies and generals shall take orders from you as if the words came from mine own mouth. But words of caution I have for you for your brother Primarchs are strong of will, of thought and of action.

First off the banners on the sergeants packs aren't vexilla's that are used in 30k. Those are banners that have been with sergeants and squads in 40k space marines as far back as I can remember. I started playing back in the early 2000's in 3rd Edition I believe.

2nd - those dreads are NOT contemptors. They are relic venerable dreads with tyrannic war banners on them.

What else could you have against this army? The painting service didn't build the list or army so it's not their fault for just showing off their new project, that is stunning btw DoI.

Maybe Girlyman is there because his model is FREAKING AWESOME and someone just wanted it as a centerpiece model, or maybe they want to expand to 30k at a future time. On that same coin, what are the suzerains doing in there?

Kinda silly nitpicking boss.

Hello! We put a lot of effort to get the look client wanted and think we captured his vision. It's a mix of 30k/40k models he like the most. I hope in overall you enjoy looking through our works! Thanks for all the comments!
