In contrast, I've spent all afternoon finishing off my Joker. I just need to take a decent photo of it, something I'm much less confident in doing than the actual painting! I'm posting in that nice period when I'm really chuffed with the results. In 24 hours I'll hate it and only be able to see the mistakes.

Theme ideas for next month now being taken, any suggestions?

Going to have to think about my entry, I painted up a large-scale Iron Man a couple of weeks ago that would be perfect but I forgot to take a Proof... That's my backup if people will take my word that I'm not breaking my own rules, but I'll try and get something else painted.

I have The Vision that needs doing, but I don't know if he'll see paint before the month is out, and while there are plenty of Space Marine commanders I could do, I have entered a lot of Marines in these challenges so I'd rather do something different. We shall see.

One shot, One kill... Snipers, infiltrators, secret operatives, various agents and other sneaky people.

Blitzkrieg! - Shock infantry, grenadiers, linebreakers or fast assault units.

Bring out the big guns - Soldiers with heavy weapons, rocket launchers, lascannons... but no vehicles!

...but artillery wins wars - Large-calibre artillery cannons, bombards, mortars....

Horrors from the underworld - Mutants, zombies, demons, or a poor sod from the underhive. Just things other are afraid of...

Here's a few, some of which I may have pitched before:

Fly the Friendly Skies - could be interpreted in a number of ways, but should probably be something that spends a lot of time in the air.

Fireworks - plenty of ways to interpret that, so I won't even list any!

Dangerous LIne of Work - anything that has a dangerous battlefield role, as in puts itself in more danger than your average line soldier. Things like Space Marine Scouts or Tau Pathfinders spring to mind. Again, there are plenty of other ways this could be interpreted.

Call of the Wild - Should be animal-themed in some way, again plenty of ways to make it happen.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

I've started basecoating The Joker already,

Your latest ork looks pretty special so far. It's interesting to see you doing a more conventional painting job rather than the humourous ones I've seen from you before. It's looking amazing. There are a lot of fantastic paint jobs in the thread this month, as I mentioned. I'm going to end up voting for everyone, I think (except myself - that would be vulgar!)

You missed a "Why so serious MG?" link there heheh. I do like my fun conversions but I like to keep a mix of things to keep myself interested and entertained. Really trying to challenge my painting skills this month.

Hope your foot heals up well and looking forward to seeing the finished model.

I've just about finished now so a few final touches and I'll get my photos up.

@ Para as for themes since Warhammer Total war has come out I thought a "Total War" theme might be good and also can be interpreted in lots of different ways.

Still going to try to finish the ork, and he might need a few more touch-ups, but at least the good captain is basically done. Will grab more pictures later.

Wow, such beautiful entries once again. I really think the bar has risen quite a bit this month. Congratulations to all entries some fantastic work. Unfortunately I'm away during the voting week so I'm not sure I'll get a chance to vote but I'll try to find a connection to do so.

Here are my final pictures, I must admit I got a bit impatient with my painting and know I should have done better, there is always next month though and I'll try a bit harder =)

I finished my first 1000pts of Blood Angels this month (I finished a rhino + drop pod this month as well as these guys and they look so much better) and I got to play them twice this week, which was amazing fun.

Wow, that Spitfire is incredible. The camo, weathering, nose art, and base are all on point.

Very nicely done!

Congratz on getting 1k point done this month Mootlet, The death squad is looking very nice, I particularly like the gems and the blending on the power sword.

Nice to see a very different entry there Queen Ann, weathering is brilliant, did you do the "nose Art" freehand? it looks great.

thanks! the pin up is actually a decal. i had to cut it down a bit to fit. i have freehanded pin ups before on model cars, and also one on a basilisk tank, but i went for the easy approach here.
