How good or terrible is this list? Tried to go for a balanced list while forcing my opponent to deal with multiple things at once. Also keep in mind I'm not real big on super comp list so if you critique keep in mind I realize this isn't the best space wolf list to run, and I'm completely fine with that. I just think this list could be fun and the models being used would look awesome on the table.
Champions of Fenris - Company of the Great Wolf Detachment
Wolf Lord: Thunderwolf Mount, Runic Armor, Storm Shield, Bolt Pistol, Fellclaw's Teeth, Krakenbone Sword
3 x Thunderwolf Cavalry: Storm Shield + Wolf Claw on all 3.
3 x Thunderwolf Cavalry: Storm Shield + Power Fist on all 3.
3 x 5 Grey Hunter Packs: 3 x Plasma Gun, Drop Pods (2 w/Beacon)
Murderfang: Drop Pod
Venerable Dreadnought: Fenrisian Great Axe, Blizzard Shield, Drop Pod w/Beacon
5 x Long Fangs: 5 x Las Cannon
5 x Long Fangs: 5 x Flak Missile Launcher
Idea behind the list for tactics would be to drop pod assault 2 Grey Hunter Packs + Venerable Dreadnought turn 1...do as much as i can while moving the Thunderwolves up. Long fangs provide support fire and the Murderfang and last pack of grey hunters pod in where needed when they come out of reserve.
Thoughts?

I like it! But why the special weapons on the TWC? I'd recommend having 1-2 special weapons, and 1 Bolt Pistols to soak wounds. Maybe 1 Claw on the leader, 1 Fist and 1 Pistol?

I don't know the codex amazingly well of the top of my head, but are Fellclaw's Teeth and the Krakenbone Sword both relics? Because if they are you can only take one. Personally, I like the two packs of wolves with all storm shields but I prefer all claws to all fists.

Yes you are correct, they are both Relics. I made the list with Battle Scribe at work and go no error for equipping him this way. I'll have to go back and double check the codex when I get home but I've seen this loadout in many other list. Automatically Appended Next Post: Matthew wrote:I like it! I guess I just like the idea of hitting things really hard with my wolves. Soaking wounds?? I thought that was a thing of the past with the new rules on how wound allocation is now with models taking wounds based on their relation to where the wound is coming from (base to base contact or measured from shooting attacks).

The new FAQ means that no more than one relic can be taken on a model.

The new FAQ that just released it's "First Draft" that no one is using yet, including tournaments?

My apologies, I hadn't realised it was not being used by you yet. It is being used in my local gw so that was what I was basing my ideas on.

Hey it's no problem. If people are already using it then I might as well get use to it being part of the rules. I'll print the first draft out and see what the guys think.

I've got a .pdf of the FAQ set up, i -only- copy/pasted from the text that goes with the FAQ images (as they were SO wrong) and then bookmarked the sections using a pdf editor.

I personally wouldn't go more than 2 SS per 3 TWC (i just go Character with it personally) and use Look Out Sir rolls to spread the wounds around (tho you gotta pick and then allocate til a model dies).
My preference is to go Character SS + TH, then go wolf claws and CCW on the others. Runic armour on the lord is expensive, but if you like it cool. that SS is just 1 shy of the runic armour, and invuln too. Pull the teeth, for sure.
Flak missiles are pricey, better to find a skyfire objective or something... however I'm not saying pull them either...
looks fun, however how are you going to cover objectives when so many units are CC and so few are shooty?
Maelstrom may be difficult, but a standard brawl could be very fun =)
IMO - go with an iron priest or two, somehow fitting it in, for the cyberwolves to help a super TWC squad live that much longer, able to Look Out Sir shots that your TWC couldn't survive (s10's or ap2's) giving your unit a SERIOUSLY SMASHY model. my thought

Thanks for the input. When I sit down again and fiddle with some list I will keep all of this for reference. Probably have to balance out the CC vs shooty for a more balanced loadout.
