Should Eldar players work to make craftworld fluff based lists for casual play?
Because of the supreme internal balance of the codex would craftworld based fluff lists be viable for competitive play?
Whats your Craftworld based list/army look like?

I think Eldar are so well balance that you could make fluffy, non-min/max lists that would still be highly competitive. I think all eldar players should vie for this if only to make the FLGS a friendlier place to be.

Here's my list, without crazy detail

Yme-Loc Mechanized Eldar 1850pts - CAD+ 2 formations - All grav tanks and "storm troppers" Dire Avengers
Autarch
2 Squads of dire avengers in Wave Serpents
2 Hornets
2 squads of 3 falcons (granting cloudstrike - no scatter deepstrike
2 Dire Avenger Shrine formations - Riding in the Falcons

Thats a lot of high strength firepower; scatter lasers + pulse lasers and a lot of DA's landing in the enemy backfield to kill hordes or objective campers. I feel like this is viable and very competitive but is very fluffly and doesn't bring eldar cheese - scat bike/ warp spider / wraith knight spam.

If you want it to be friendly, consider using the CAD instead.

You'll have to add an HQ or drop down to 6 DA squads (with this theme, I'd go for more varied Grav Tanks - Fire Prism or Night Weaver).

"Should"? No, as long as they're within the rules they can build their list however they like.

That said I always like a themed list and I'm currently building a Craftworld Iyanden army around Wraithguard/Lords and Shadow Spectres.

I don't think anyone would consider a bunch of Falkens with Dire Avengers in them undfriendly. In fact, given their huge footprint I'd say having them deep strik in would be very difficult to pull off.

Been Saim-Hann themed Corsairs (not the FW kind) since 4th ed, don't see me changing that. One way that I balance the fluff with competitive choices is not to play all Scatterbikes. Shuricannons just feel more Saim-Hann. I put 1 Scatter laser in a unit for range, but the rest get Shuricannons.

Sometimes "fluff" can be represented with modeling, not necessarily what units you bring. For example, 2 WKs in an 1850pt Saim-Hann list might not be overly fluffy, but it is if they look like this:

So fluff is in the eye of the beholder and can't always be used to "balance" the rules.

It is a CAD

1 Autarch
2 Troops - DA's in Wave Serpents
2 Fast Attack - Hornets
2 - 3 Falcon squads

Taking the Dire Avenger Shrines as 2 formations are what give it that competative edge. You get the +1BS and the once pergame +1 shot per DA + some other bonuses.

at 2000pts I would add a crimson hunter for air support.
