So I started making some mods for Battlescribe Catalogues

You can download Battlescribe here
http://www.battlescribe.net/downloads.html

In order to use you're standard codecs, you need to go to this website and download the file listed under the link "Warhammer 40,000"
http://battlescribedata.appspot.com/#/repos
It should download into your download folder [C:\Users\[Your Profiles Name]\Downloads as index.bsi

Then you run Battlescribe, and it will prompt you with the "Getting Started Window"
Click on the button labeled "Add a repository"
Click on the button labeled "Import Data From a File"
Select the index.bsi file and click "open"

Congrats, you can now use Battlescribe to build your lists!

You can download my CUSTOM Codecs here:

Ork Codex (Very Similar to Space Odins Codex)
Chaos Marine Codex (Cheaper & More Balanced)
Space Marine Codex (Lots of little tweaks here and there)
Eldar Codex (Nerfs to D weapons, increased point cost to wraithgaurd and wraithknight, tweak to Windriders)

To check out my original post and see the kinds of changes I've been implementing, click here

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/692325.page

In order to use them all you have to do is download the file derpa.bsr, open the roster editor, click under file, and click import data file, then find the file you downloaded and select it. When you open a new roster, select you're detachment (Usually Combined Arms Detachment or Formation Detachment) and select the catalogue from the catalogue tab, (for example "BS40k_Chaos_Space_Marines") from the tab. All the new changes and rule updates should be there!

Let me know if you have any problems let me know and I'll be sure to help you out!

So I put an (update) tag next to all the changes i have (Hopefully) implemented in my rules update post. (Shown in the link above)

Keep in mind this is sort of an "open beta" so it might be a little buggy, things might be missing, ect.

Okay, so I couldn't quite figure out how to add "1 unit of nobs or meganob as a troops choice per warlord", so i just set it so that if you take a warlord, you can select as many nobs or meganobz as troops as you want. If you think thats OP you can keep track of how many warlords you have and adjust the number of nobz and meganobz troop choices accordingly. Also, the eldar nerfs are up and running. (I gave some buffs to missiles and plasma grenades cause it sucks to get nothing.)

So if the ork nob and meganob troop choices were giving you a problem, that should be fixed now.

So does anybody but the peanut gallery have any legitimate criticisms?

Things I maybe might not have thought of in regard to game balance, point cost, breaking the game, etc.?

Any thoughts as to which of these changes might be a dealbreaker for you?

I'm going to work on the Tyranid changes next, not sure when I'll get around to it. Kind of depends on whether or not I get any feedback. So far lots of views, but no comments, so I'm hoping that means your downloading the links I provided and using them.

My email is ringringlingling@gmail.com

Just a reminder, I don't work for GW and don't know anyone on the design team.

Melee combat is weak. The % of melee units which are good is really low, and pretty much entirely limited to multi-wound units with characters that can move 12" each turn. Infantry melee is way too weak, walking across the board hurts way too much. Even if embarked upon a vehicle, infantry units can still often charge no earlier than turn 3. Assault infantry can“t make back their points.

Psychic powers seem very gimmicky with only a few ones being stupidly powerful when abused and the rest being very bad. It is the primary cause for deathstar units being really good.

The ally system is broken, inquisitors should not be hired willy nilly by the Eldar to keep SM from deep striking close to them.

I'll do yours if you do mine

In all seriousness though, happy to have a look through, and I can give you a hand with some of the extra validation settings you're trying to set up In return, would you mind looking at my Blood Raven's codex? All in Battlescribe too! (Pretty much finished now, just needs some play testing and balancing)

One way for you to be able to make a Meganob restriction you're wanting is to first Duplicate the Meganobz Entry, and just paste it under the main Catalogue title (rather than in Shared Entries) then set it as Troops, with 0 Min & Max selections in force. Once you've done that, set a modifier up with Increment MinSelections by 1. Then, make an OR Codition Group from the modifyer, adding all of the HQ choices you want to allow meganobz.

"Each must find their own way. If those in our heartland had witnessed the savageries of the void as have we they would know this. The hand of each of the starfarers is turned against the other; none will join their strength together just to see their ancient enemies prosper. Neither should we."
