So, I've only ever played tau, and I want to make a list that uses grey knights, and inquisition with perhaps a knight or guard or scions or assassins. My goal here is twofold. I wish to bring some armies out that are rarely seen in my gaming groups, and take some armies that aren't too good and crack them up to near competitive levels with allies. The problem though, is that I lack an intimate understanding of grey knights and inquisition, and before I start converting and buying anything, I feel like I should have a plan of what to get. I've read the 1d4chan pages on most of these armies, though what I'm really wanting right now is just some tactical advice on how these armies could benefit each other, and what holes each army has as well as what kind of stuff in each codex is 'good' by current standards.

Also I refuse to purchase a baby carrier.

Not exactly cheesetastic but bring an entire army of Jokaeros.

Just Jokaeros. Watch your opponent freak out at how Orange Cyborg Monkeys from Space is evaporating his entire army one turn at a time.

I know about the barrel of monkeys, and whilst I feel like bringing 100 something monkeys to appoc would be fun, I've neither the will or the desire to paint that much fur or pay for that many monkeys at GW prices.

I have been toying around with the idea of Scions with karamazov, using the new formation to return squads of them back into play and then using Krazypantsoff's orbital blast to nuke stuff with pinpoint accuracy.

Other than that my own GK and assassin armies aren't very OP. I don't run the baby carrier and still have a fair amount of PAGKs from when Terminators weren't troops (yeah, my army's that old).

Army building wise, I would pick something as a base and use the others to fill the holes. GKs bring heavy armor, psychics and close combat ability to the field, while Guard are pretty much the complete opposite (light armor, numbers and long-ranged weapons). They compliment eachother rather well since GKs provide nice close combat buffers to an IG gunline, while GKs themselves lack decent anti-tank (which the IG have no shortage of).

As for Inquisition, Henchmen squads are basically your glue; they're there to fill in the holes of whatever weird niche your other armies can't. Need cheap meatshield escorts for your characters? Bam Crusaders. Need to deal with hordes? Deathcults and Arcos. Need speedy special Weapons en-masse? MSU squads of Acolytes in Chimeras. Have a strange obsession to blanket the entire board with plasma cannons? Servitors. Same goes for the Assassins, although I find that the Culexus Assassin is the best out of the bunch unless you want long range character sniping (mainly because he can ignore armor in close combat, making him actually better than the Eversor in close combat).

As for IKs, they're your hammer to the anvil; straight up punishing fire against anything too dumb to get out of the way. Techpriests can keep the titan running (I wouldn't use techmarines because they cost a lot more while not being that much more effective at repairing the titan than their point cost would suggest). A Crusader would be the best, since it can hide among your gunline and the tech priest won't have to play catch up.

You seem to assume that "net list" and "asking people what stuff is solid" are the same thing. I'm under the impression that your one of those scrubs who assumes that wanting to know how to make a capable list is the same as wanting to bring the cheese to every match. Frankly I'm wanting to know what's good, I'm not wanting to spam it endlessly in every game regardless of the opponent.

You really need to stop being so easily defensive the moment you see a guy trying to play the game in a way that isn't "take random units you like and hope it works sorta ok." Trying to play well shouldn't be frowned upon like it is in this community.

Is there a permanent stickied thread for Chaos players to complain every time someone/anyone gets models or rules besides them? If not, there should be.
