Wondering Why the Emperor Left

Boston, MA

Hey all,

There's two things I love: Tank and Robots. I have a 30k Solar Auxilia army, which handles my my tank obsession. Now, I'm handling my robot obsession - 1850 list below:

Retaliation Cadre:

Coldstar Commander
Riptide - EWO, VT, SMS, Ion Accelerator
Crisis Team - 3 Suits, 2x Missile Pods each
Crisis Team - 3 Suits, 2x Missile Pods each
Crisis Team - 3 Suits, 2x Fusion Blasters and Target Locks each
Broadside Team - 2 Suits, HYMP, SMS, EWO

Firebase Support Cadre

Riptide - EWO, VT, SMS, HBC
Broadside Team - 2 Suits, HYMP, SMS, EWO
Broadside Team - 2 Suits, HYMP, SMS, EWO

Optimized Stealth Cadre

Stealth Team - 3 Suits, 1 Fusion Blaster, 1 Target Lock
Stealth Team - 3 Suits, 1 Fusion Blaster, 1 Target Lock
Ghostkeel - Twin-linked Fusion Blaster

This leave about 50 points for wargear. Since I've been out of the 40k game for a while, I had some questions:

- Do I have too much anti-tank and not enough anti-infantry?
- Do I need markerlights? What's the best way to get them in a suit list?

Any feedback is welcome! Thanks!

It is true that nothing desirable is given to us for free. The only thing we can be certain about is a mundane, repetitive, and thoughtless existence. Improving our lives takes dedication and hard work, as our dreams won't simply become reality. Those who give up trying to better themselves get stuck in a state of hopelessness with no aspirations or goals. They live only in the depressing present. They blend into the crowd of people stuck in the same place and their lives slowly drain their hopes and desires. Seeing people in this situation is disheartening, but no situation is absolutely hopeless. Any situation can be changed if there is a will to change it.

While lots of S7 is nice, the game requires more AP2 (or 3). The PlasmaStar TM** is so overlooked and gerenally erases most 10 dude MEq units:

Cmdr - Irid Armor, dual PRs, PEN chip, VRT
'Vre - MSS and C&CN
4 to 5 buddies with dual PRs, maybe the dual Fusions with Target Locks, too.

You need the VRT to get out of combat, as this unit's footprint is big. Maybe a GunD or two for ablative wounds.

Even if you stay with all dual MPs, add the 'Vre with MSS and C&CN. Jinking venoms, and slightly hidden rhinos will become body shop projects and Insurance Claim paper work. It's reasonable Anti-Air, too.

The Fusion team isn't optimal; sure Battle Co. will present itself, and the Target Locks will be worth it, but not often (pending your local meta - what your buddies bring to the table).

Skyfire for S6 guns might not be the best match up. Given Twin-Linked, b-sides are better anti-air with the S7. Save points or put it on one of the b-sides.

Multiple Ghostkeels make me cringe if the opponent has them.

Markers are most efficient with a BabySitter:
Cmdr (you have room for a second HQ) - dual MPs (matching best with 36" Marker Lights), Drone Controller, 2 MarkerDs
Attach him to a 4 M-drone unit. That's 6 Markers hitting on the Cmdr's baliistic skill.

Otherwise one 6 pathfinder team or another 6 MarkerD team.

" PlasmaStar " TM** It just occurred to me that I have not heard anyone call it this, so I'm gonna claim it!

"I'm gonna follow Casey; he knows where the beer's at!" -Blackmoor, BAO 2013
