Hello! I am going to a GT in a few months which has a really cool format. I am looking for constructive criticism. The event is ITC rules and is 5 rounds. Day 1 is 3 games of 1250 and day 2 is 2 games of 1850! Everything from day 1 lists must be in day 2 and you CANNOT take stuff and add it to formations. So I can’t take a librarian from a CAD day 1 and put him in a conclave day 2 for instance. You can add models and war gear to units existing but you cannot remove any. Also no super heavies’ day 1.

What do you guys think of these 2 lists? The issue is the day 2 lists are hard as you have to add 600 points and I am struggling to find what is most competitive in that spot. The incursion list really limits what I can add day 2. I was thinking of a Lord of change, with robes etc, and a nurgle demon prince with wings. Adds about 5 more charges to the list and 2 more big hitters since I have such a large amount of scoring. I am still pondering the 2nd list day 2 possibilities.

You can see 2 takes on the 1250 and I figured I would work on my day 2 list later since without winning day 1 games it doesn’t matter as much what day 2 brings haha

We do not know what the missions are so far and they are no using the ITC scoring system, just their building restrictions.

Adding 600 points of daemons is tricky sure. Essentially 2 daemon lords or a small CAD. 3 soul grinders could be an option?

You could add more pink horrors to get 3 warp charges each? Then deep strike them and try to get the d on them? So lemme get this straight can you add new models, as in another unit of horrors to your cad? if you can then for 600 points you can go for a d-thirster and belakor. (for your cad) that way you get a deathstar and 3 mc

I like that the cad gives the option of adding a FW knight but I think the incursion is so good with objective games and summoning.

cad is just as good, obsec IMO beats the corrupting rule. and you can summon pretty easily if you put the paradox on a herald for your cad. just role 5 dice and you are guaranteed to summon. incursion for your format is very limiting

I could just change the paradox in the first list to a disc.

The thing that I like about demons in this event is the most superheavies you can have in an army is 1 since you cant take them day 1 there can be no knight primary army and each player is limited to 1 other super under itc. I think demons are great in a format where I don't have to worry about supers haha

SO you think that the CaD is better because of the options?

Less dice though to cast :(

But whats the point for casting? if you have a herald in the cad his job is to cast cursed earth and grim on the screamers, now they have a 3++ rerolling ones on the screamers. another herald can take the paradox and he auto casts wc3 powers with 5 dice. then fatey is just a gun boat. on top of that if you choose to take the knight (more favourable) he can take the legacy of glory that allows the daemons to use the malefic warp charge at a discount. honestly i think you should scrap the incursion, because the major problem i found, when i still had an army, was that i would have so many warpcharges that there would be nothing for me to cast, because i casted them all. the sweet spot IMO for warp charges in a daemon army is around 20 with no modifiers. if you have modifiers such as the paradox or the legacy of glory then its 18 warpchrages. so i think what you should do is show us your ideal 1250 cad list and then your 1850 cad list. then your incursion 1250 and then the 1850 and then we can see which is better

Daemons can't use legacies of ruin, they're csm only.

The best one for your list is the Death of Kasyr Lutien. It is found in the ia13 book. For 25pts you get fear, and for all psychers within 12" reroll one die for each remaining hull point of the knight, only for malefic. if they fail the test the knight takes a penetrating hit. Another good one is found in the same book, Screams of Lugganath. it allows the dirge caster of the knight to extend to 12" instead of 6 and its for 30 pts

Yep, you can only take it with a CSM CAD.
For the knight to work, you have to build your army around him. It seems a bit of a stretch for me. I'm not the biggest fan.

Hey, do you have access to some helldrakes? With fatey manipulating the warp storm table and cursed earth, you could be rocking 3++ drakes.
