Can terminators teleport to a battlefield and then randomly teleport off a battlefield?

Only if a Teleportarium is available.
I assume such equipment would not be rare on Astartes warships given the need to recover your troops intact, and quickly.

Can't really recall any instance where they've teleported away from the battlefield, only from the Teleportarium to the battle. If such a device could lock on to them (not impossible seeing as it can get a lock on those handy teleport homers for safer teleports) then maybe it could also be used to recover them, but as said I've never seen it described.

In one ofthe night lords short stories, Sevatar get the night lords terminators to kill the old Kryptora then after they slaughter them they teleport away.

In "I am Slaughter" the Imperial Fists have a group teleport down to the planet in an emergency as their ship is being destroyed and they take some sort of teleport "rod" with them which from the story appears to be some sort of beacon to allow a teleportarium to bring them back.
It doesnt happen in the book but I assume from the ending that its a set up for it later on.
Whether its still viable in the 40k universe rather than the 30k universe? I am not sure but doubt it

Yes they can. Logan Grimnar and his guard also teleported away from the Inquisition ship after killing the Grey Knights grandmaster.
