So what is this cable / pipe for ?
Do wulfen have a high amount of under skin electronics in their arms that need to be powered or do their vascular system have such serious issues that they need external artificial plumbing?

I've always wondered the same thing about all the cables going into the heads of such guys as Perturabo and Angron. Clearly not everyone wearing a suit of power armor requires cables in their heads, so what are those for?

My guess is the artist took liberties. Medically those sockets in their skin is for interfacing with PA. My understanding is that's where the black carapace is to interface with servo muscles and auto senses. Not sure why you would connect your ribs to your arm. Perhaps that frost claw needs some form of input? also why is he not wearing the chest piece? I know its fantasy but I could drop that dude at 600m easy with a modern autorifle. Goofy term for them.

I also thought it was about how they ahem poop.

Obviously, only sissies use steroids in itty-bitty syringes, these are wulfen, they need a few cubic meters per second of the stuff right into the muscles they are punching with!

To pump the arms at super speed? Maybe they use the cables to flap their arms and that's how they move so quickly.

There are implants in the Wulfen's arms to improve their efficiency with large weapons in CC - on the right page, in the second paragraph

I love those models. You just need to paint them in wolverine colours.

You see a Wolfen is what happens to a space wolf who has tried to impress the sororitas by spraying copious amounts of Axe body spay on himself. The mutation in their gene creates a this mutation though only for a brief period. By putting in a tube like this they can maintain this mutated state by allowing themselves to have a longer lasting and more direct supply of Axe; more importantly it also contains it.

Exact same thing happens to Orks and Guardsmen, but they're called digganobz.

I will admit...as a guy who used to love the Space Wolves (back when they were more just Vikings...) the new Wulfen models are one of the very worst things I've ever seen coming out of GW. And that's saying something.

Angron had a device installed in his brain that hard wires him for aggression installed by his slave masters from the world he landed on.. It wasn't removed until he became a daemon.

Perturabo has them as an interface to his highly customized armor.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Now this sounds about right for GW.

Personally I hate the Wulfen models. They look utterly terrible and cartoonish, but hey, im only a long time collector and Oldhammer enthusiast. What do I know?

I'm fairly new to the hobby (only in it for about a year and a half) and even I think these models are utterly ridiculous. I just can't even.

I don't really know the fluff for the models but...at this point, I don't get how Space Wolves are allowed to remain by the other Marines. They went full furry and that just seems like something that they wouldn't overlook, even in this time of strife.

I really like the models. GW is at its best when everything is completely over the top.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

I like the general look of the models and their weapons, but the poses are really awkward. The model posted above with his left leg up - what they hell is he supposed to be doing, apart from dancing? And the guy in the middle, left page, of the WD scan - he's supposed to be swinging his axe, but the motion of his body seems wrong somehow.

And the guy on the left of this pic: he was running, but then hit himself across the chest with his hammer and is now falling over backwards:

I've taken leave of my senses and will try and introduce a plausibly logical explanation;

The black carapace - the under-skin implant what which allows an SM to move in a few hundred kilos of powered armour without reaction lag would need a point of connection with arm <-> torso movement.

Since there isn't a vambrace to plug in to, he had to pipe a high performance, low latency data conduit for a system designed to be < 10mm away from signal source to destination so that if he's turning, his torso turns with him.

Alternative, 80s explanation:

It's somewhere to hang ammo pouches.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.
