so i just need to make sure im taking the best dark eldar units i can for this tournament

I don't know anything about Dark Eldar but wouldn't it be better to split the scourges into 2 5 man squads? Looks like a lot of fun to run.

Yes, split the scourges into two 5 man units, and try and find the points to stick 4 special weapons in the second unit

The main reason i did not want to split the scourges into 2 five man units was in case they get shot at the non special weapons ones can die and protect the blasters

is this bad thinking and i should just run 2 5 man units??

From my limited knoledge of DE I can say:
Unless your meta consistently uses deathstars you do not need drazar, an archon and 8 Incubi in 1 unit. I'd be reducing it to a 5 man unit in the raider, drop drazar in favour of a WWP archon with a Shadowfield and some knitted out true born, you can make room by dropping one of your troop units. Additionally, scourges are best used in 5 man units so they're not people's first choice to shoot at, so split them up too. And whilst I'd like to say drop both planes, heldrakes will be very scary so keep 1 and use the other to grab a kitted true born squad in a venom. Lastly Swap 1 other troop unit for the same true born squad in venom, this way you'll have some anti-tank from your scourges and trueborn, light anti tank from your readers an still heaps of anti troops from the venoms and kabalites, good luck either way.
