Hey guys,

I'm trying to come up with an idea for a Kill Team warband. It occurred to me that the Bullgryn Auxilia models from the Astra Militarum army might look awesome painted up as Adeptus Arbites riot beakers. Does the fluff ever mention if the Arbites utilize Abhumans?

What do you guys think about the idea?

I have no idea if the official fluff supports it, but it sounds like an awesome idea.

I think you'd have a slight problem with the intellect aspect of the abhumans. The arbites are meant to act as judge, jury and executioner, so to be an arbite and you need to have a certain amount of intelligence to understand and uphold the law.

Having said that, they don't have to be arbiter themselves, arbites have used servitor hounds, so maybe a modified abhuman that is controlled, like a toned down arco-flagellent hybrid may be used.

Maybe the local police force use them though, and they have enforced their will to use them as and when they please.

Lastly though, the fluff isn't strict and can be very flexible, especially in cases like this, their are millions of planets in the imperium, each with their own arbite household apparently, theirs a chance some of them may use abhumans.

This was my thought process exactly. They would just be used by the AA to disperse unruly mobs. They wouldn't actually have legal authority. Just run of the mill brute squads

As a riot supression tool, well very lumpen one.

Sheer heavyweight riot units to bludgon anything smaller back into line with a senior intelligent human guiding it.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Yeah, it's a cool idea, if you kept it fluffy with the controller nearby, and you could make a house rule that they start acting erratic sort of like the nids do out of synapse it would be cool and fluffy if the controller moves out of 12" or dies (if you are into that sort of thing).

How the ogryns use to work with commissars, those sort of quirky things.

Bullgryns are pretty new so they haven't found their way into anything other than the IG.

Ogryns are one of the more accepted types of abhuman in the Imperium, and are readily recruited by the Astra Millitarum and by smaller organisations like Inquisitorial Warbands; I don't see why they couldn't be part of an Arbites force.
