Hi there,

I was wondering if someone could shed some light on heavy weapons being fired from fire points in a transport. Would the heavy weapon be able to fire if the vehicle moved? In this case would the weapon be firing snap shots?

Cheers!

If the transport moves the model carrying the weapon counts as moving.

You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!

Dakka isn't a replacement for reading your available copy of the rulebook - the answer is quite clear in the second paragraph of 'Fire Points' under the Transports rules, and konst80hummel has only got half of the answer.

A) just point them to relevant parts of the rulebook; as in: the answer to your question is in the second paragraph of the Fire Points section of the transport rules in the BRB.

B) konst80hummel did provide the whole answer. Heavy weapon rules dictate the function of firing while moving; all other rules come from those other rules.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

No, he only gave the answer for Combat Speed, not Cruising. They are different, even if a model is Relentless.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

Not for Heavy weapons.

Excepting relentless, where Cruising Speed fires as a Non-relentless Heavy weapon.

A Heavy Weapon that is Firing from a Moving Transport without any other rules involved Fires Snap Shots. There is absolutely no difference in which speed you move. A heavy weapon with relentless changes; but I covered that with the where to find admonition.

No, the difference is if you went cruising speed passengers can't fire AT ALL.

Not true, that's the restriction if the vehicle Flat Out's or uses Smoke Launchers. Page 80, top-right paragraph (or second paragraph under "Fire Points" for digi-book users).
