Good day, everybody! I am considering making a conversion on an Imperial Knight with wings. I was thinking maybe Balrog wings, any ideas?

unless your knight is a chaos daemonic version, the organic wings would look out of place, I'd suggest tau riptide or bigger size thrusters, or maybe aircraft engines such as Valkyries.

Yeah I was worried about the leather on a mech...
I'm not so sure about the riptide or valkrie, but what about the wings on a Tau Fighter or the fins on the Tau Sky Ray?

I was going to say if you used the missile wing platform off a Tau Skyray it would look pretty wild mounted onto the back of a Knight. Imperial it up a bit though, throw some emblems and whatnot on it.

Know someone with one of those projectors? Enlarge an imperial eagle onto a piece of thick plasti card and cut that out.

That sounds like a great idea but...unfortunately I don't.

Perfect. I have them left over from when I built my Hammerhead two years ago. How would you suggest Imperializing it? I do have some emblems, but Tau is pretty distinct. Maybe cut off the roundedness to make it more boxy like the rest of the Imperium? I'll probably do that, but I'm still open to suggestions, seeing as I don't even have the knight yet

I'd probably go with trying to give it jump jets from stuff like the valkyrie over wings. The wings look odd and out of place with how bulky the thing is in general. I'm not too sure on the skyray parts and would probably say try to find more squarish thrusters than the round valkyrie ones as well.

I'd say one of the main things that gives it immediately away as Tau are the tips of the missile platform that house the drones/turrets.

If it were me, I'd glue the drones into place just to fill the housing in, and then mount actual Imperial weaponry on top - whatever you prefer of course. Just something to mask, what I feel, is the dead giveaway. Then you could cover the rest of the panel if you feel you have to in emblems/heraldry and whatnot:

Aside from covering things up, I don't think there's much you could do without mutilating it beyond practical use:

I think the wings from the Xiphon would be cool for this, but it would not be cheap.

Tbh, would wings even look cool on a knight?
