Hi All,

I think I know the answer to this but want to ask in case I'm missing something.

In the Primarch's Chosen Rite of War it says "The First: Legion Veteran Squads or Legion Terminator squads must be taken as compulsory Troops choices for this army".

What I'm wondering is if you can use a legion specific terminator squad as one of those compulsory choices I.E. Justaerin Terminators.

Reason I ask is in the Pride of the Legion Rite of War it states that "Veteran and Terminator squads are troops choices in the force....This also includes any Legion specific Terminator Squads which are also Elites choices".

Of course I want to use Justaerins as the compulsory troops in the Primarch's Chosen, i'm just not sure you can as it doesn't include that last part that Pride of the Legion does.

Another question would you say in the Primarch's chosen that only the compulsory troops can be Vets or Termi's and no other troops? As in Vets and Termi dont swap to troops slot, only the compulsory troops do?

What do you guys think?

1) If PotL mentions specifically that elite 'legion specific' terminators are okay, then PotL can, HOWEVER Primarch's Chosen cannot unless it makes the same statement (I would assume). It would make sense if it could, though.

2) "The First: Legion Veteran squads or Legion Terminators squads must be taken as compulsory Troops choices for this army" They both become troops, and MUST be your 2 compulsory troop slots. Tacticals, assault marines, and support squads are still troops, you just can't use them to fill your compulsory troop slots.

Horus lets you take your justaerin as troops anyway, so I think you're good

Yep, but the issue is then I would also need 2 squads of vet or legion termi in addition to justaerins to fullfil the RoW?

Follow on to your point 2, after the compulsory troops are taken out of vet and termi squads you can not take any more vet or termi in the troop slot right?

Two Squads is all you need for Compulsory troops, you get six.


I miss read what you said, Im pretty sure you can take as many in troops as you want.

Looks like that is the consensus that you cant swap out the Legion Terminators for legion specific terminators in the compulsory slot.

Im afraid that it will be a case of house ruling it in your gaming club, the rule is that only vet tacs and regular termies are troops in primarchs chosen, hopefully there will be a FAQ, this means that if you want Justaerins as troops you need to take a regular HQ and take Horus as a LOW or use primarchs chosen and you have to take a minimum of atleast 2 of either reg legion termies or vet tacs then take justaerin.

My mistake then, I read that wrong.
