The Logos Lectora Competitive List

2000/2000 Points, 6 inf, 6 vehicle/flyer

Guilliman (Gives Sicarans Tank Hunters, rides in LR with Suzies and FL)

Forge Lord

Master of Signal (Logos tax)

Suzerians (5 men, count as compulsory troops thanks to G-Man)
LR Phobos DT (Armoured Ceramite, Dozer Blade)

Tac Squad (Rhino, other than that barebones)

Tac Squad (Same as above)

Sicaran (with Lascannon sponsons)

Sicaran (same as above)

Ziphon Interceptor (with strafing run upgrade)

Thoughts:
-anti inf covered with the tac squads, G-man and Suzies, Sicarans in a pinch plus the orbital bombardment from MoS
-anti flyer covered by xiphon
-AT/anti Spartan covered by xiphon and Sicarans with tank hunter
-Sicarans can be given implacable advance tank hunter or even interceptor
-weaknesses?? Possibly overall lack of punch if xiphon fails to come in
-at 2.5k Suzies upped to 10 men, LR Phobos exchanged for Spartan, tac squads receive vexillas and stuff, add quad mortars

Having 3 troop choices for 2000 pts is good, not great, but I'm a little concerned that your 3 troop choices consist of only 25 models total. Think that'll be able to hold up enough to hold objectives? I don't know how objective based your tournament is going to be, but man, I would gun your tacticals right down and then worry about the robot girlyman squad later.
Also who is your master of signal going to lead?

It's okay. From a competitive stand point: your infantry will drop like flies, there is to much cheap, strong anti-air weaponry in 30k for a single xiphon to be a massive game changer, and IMO scarans are strong, but highly overrated. The only "scary" thing in here is the guilliman "blob" which is simply to small to take on other blobs.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

I love your list it seems pretty fluffy and fun to play against, however since you said you were going to be playing competitively and by that i assume others will be making strong competitive lists you will probably get tabled, at the very least you will hold absolutely no objectives and the level of firepower you have is easily ignorable till turn 2-3 and Girly man is going to be shot to death due to taking saves as t4.

Well if he's smart, even if girly and his boys get exposed to fire (they are in a durable assault vehicle so they should at least make it into their first assault without taking hits) he shouldn't be tanking small arms. Considering his squad has 2+ saves too, they should be look out sir - ing all small arms fire off of him, and letting him tank heavy AP2 shots that would probably wound him on 2+ regardless of whether he's T6 or 4.

Yea but girly isnt a particularly durable primarch he is best used as a buff for the army then as a beat stick.

Guilliman beats anyone but Horus, or Fulgrim/Angron who gets the charge.

And even then, If he keeps Fulgrim concussed, he wins. Angron is a fight that will come down to how well the Suzerains do against Angrons posse.

If you mean against most opponents, I don't know what will chew through Guilliman and Bodyguard well enough to make it much of an issue, especially if he can get through shooting phases by hiding in close combat. Guilliman will probably one round anything but an Eternal Warrior opponent due to his S10 fist.

All of that being said, you should find a way to give the Forge Lord Rad Grenades if he's going to be going with Guilliman. Making things Toughness 3 (or other not Horus primarchs T5/6) will help out a lot for the first round, especially with those Legatine Axes.

Personally not a fan of the Xiphon, but if it has worked for you, power to you!

You are vastly overestimating the power of Guilliman (and his tiny "body guard" ) against other death stars.

assuming that he can somehow hop from fight to fight with no in-between shooting phases, he might do fine. but as soon as those suzerians start to drop, his combat efficiency is going to plummet.

Hey guys, thanks for all the help. Guilliman is staying in for sure, but I guess the ROW is not that necessary. My goal is to make a list including Gman+Suzerian deathstar, in somekind of transport, but also include enough ranged support for it to be scary. Keep in mind Gman gives either implacable advance, tank hunter or interceptor to a unit choice of my choosing, so the sicarans with tank hunter would be pretty lethal IMO.

Ideas: Using no ROW, dropping the MoS, switching Xiphon for a deredeo, upping suzerian squad to 7 dudes.

Anybody got experience with running expensive units in Land Raiders? is the LR durable enough to deliver the squad? The spartan is only 50 more points and it seems like such a good deal to upgrade it.

Anybody who believes Guil is a combat monster is going to be sadly dissapointed, he is at best mid tier and that only because as the rounds go on he increases in ws if combat doesnt end.

As for op increasing the size of his bodyguard is a great idea but dont be too scared to footslog him if you dont want to pay for a battle taxi. a ten man squad with primus medic would be a very scary thing that people just about have to take seriously giving the rest of your army more survivability.

Only experience I have had with footslogging primarchs in the game is that they go down easy. DO you have any experiences footlslogging primarchs destined for close combat?

For me its complicated as i always footslog my primarch be it Perturabo or Dorn, both come with a 10 man terminator bodyguard of tyrants in perts case or hammer and storm shields in Dorns. The weight of fire neccesary to bring them down makes them a surviveable unit with damage output that cannot be ignored. Personally i always ignore a spartan unless i can smack it in the side armour with something good enough that i know one unit is gonna kill it. Its a waste of fire otherwise and if someone is stupid enough to make a big deathstar unit like that im confident i can cripple the army i face while they bring it to bare on me.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
My experience is that putting a primarch to be killed is stupid but if you make it a really tempting target but still have a decently put together force you can survive it and take advantage of the panic the other player will feel seeing it.

They do. The unit cant be wounded on anything less than a 3 as long as Dorn is in it.
