Subject: Battleline rules question!

So in the General's handbook wich will be released soon, there is a section including points.
Within these points there are certain units you should have, battleline units.
My question is, if you take the Order allegiance, does 2 separate army battleline units counts as 2 battleline units
for the army.
Example: i take one unit of 20 Freeguild Swordsmen and 1 unit of Stormcast Judicators, do these count as
2 battleline units for the minimum requirements of my army?
Thanks

If they're both battleline without allegeance then yes.
My question is. If you need 2 battlelines and you have 2x10 guys. Can you deploy them as 1x20?

I think so, for an additional amount of points.

I've not found anything in the handbook which expressly forbids this, but someone asking on the FB page said they said they need to be separate units.
I may house-rule it for our group as some armies just don't want their mass guys in what amount to terrible, terrible tiny units.

It's fine for Freeguild considering how many units are battleline:
Swordsmen, Halberdiers, Spearmen, Militia, Archers, Crossbowmen and Handgunners
I think we'll manage :-)

Wow, I didn't realise there were that many. It's really quite impressive.
On a somewhat related note, it says in the book that you can have less than the minimum squad size for units, but you still have to pay full points. Now, if you only had 1 5 man unit of Stormcast Liberators, could you have 1 unit of 3 and 1 of 2 to cover battleline for a 1000pts game? Or does it still have to be at least the minimum squad size on the warscroll itself?

If you've paid the points, you'd paid the points, as you can always take less than the minimum increment of a unit, but have to pay the full amount. Honestly, all you'd be doing is hurting yourself, but if its what it took to make the list legal, you are doing a technically valid thing.

I mean yeah if those are literally the only Battleline models you have, but there's no reason to ever take under full strength if you have the models to get to the full milestone.

Yeah, in SCGT you could split a pool. For example you could take 20 Liberators and run one unit at 13 and one at 7 if you wanted.
If you split 5 Liberators into 3 and 2 under the GHB you would pay for 10.

You're still under the warscroll rule. If it says "a unit of *** is composed of at least 5 models", then you can't have a unit of 3, unless they've been summoned under a rule of "summon a unit of xD6 models"
@NewThruthNeomaxim can you find me that facebook post by any chance?

The only exception to that is that you are allowed a single under-strength unit (to allow for mini collections).
But you'd still have to pay the points for a full minimum.
