Greetings, just wanted to know how many fellow Dakka members backed this one, and if you did? Did you receive what you were expecting?

I was very patient, as all KS backers must be (should be? ) and when the the mat finally arrived... it was BLUE!?

I have already contacted Kraken Mats, but I'm curious if this was a random occurence or if all backers who chose the "Warzone City" mat, in ANY size, got a blue tinted mat?
The return shipping for this item is going to be heavy, because of it's weight? So why even deliver a product that's not right? I guess Kraken could not check all of them for obvious "time" reasons.

I feel a bit cheated, as I built some buldings in a nice matching grey, only to have the primary surface arrive like a blue tinted Shakuras from Starcraft? (odd reference I know..)

I'd be patient with them, they are a Kick Starter so they still need to fine tune things. Unlike big companies like Frontline, these guys probably have a very small shop or are working out of their garage to make these mats.

Good luck, hopefully everything gets resolved. When you do receive the correct mat, please leave a review, I usually in the market for a nice new mat .

Since it is a defective product you should not be required to pay for the return shipping.

It is their fault, and they should be the ones responsible.

They have replied back to me on the matter in a timely manner, hopes up!

About the production of the mats, I believe they were printed in a factory in China? Able to produce over 10 tons of these mats! (Something like 3800 of them!)

I've been following the Kraken mats kickstarter closely after unfortunately not being able to back it. From what I've seen, a lot of the mats ended up with an unfortunate blue tint, and responses so far from the guys who did the Kickstarter have been good. I think they're going to do everything they can to get the issues sorted out to the best of their ability.

Blue tint aside, their mats are some of the most incredible I've seen (pictures of) so far, way better than FAT mats IMO. Eventually I'd love to get a desert Warzone City map from them.

Almost like I am being blocked, hmm? I pretty much conceded when I got that mat, that there's a very... very.. low chance that Kraken Wargames will do anything about my night blue Urban Warzone.
So, I now feel like I have a new car, but it's not in the color I'd like... but it's nice... but it's.... pink!

I wonder if there is a certain degree of "actual product may vary to images shown" that is allowed with a Kickstarter project?
Better save that page before all the images mysteriously say "actual product may be blue!?".

Can you get any pictures of your mat that show the blue tint, maybe alongside a pic from the Kickstarter showing their version?

It seems like a lot of people appear to have gotten bluer mats. As someone who tends to look on the bright side, I'm sure there's gotta be a reasonable explanation and a way to have the manufacturing company fix the issue and get new mats out. Right? I mean, if they're under contract and provided a product with mismatched colors to the intended mats, then it's on them to provide fixes, right?

That looks like their printer literally ran out of the other ink colors before that was printed. Yeah, I'd say that's worth a replacement or refund.
