Do regular Tactical Space Marine heads work with Terminator models? I'm thinking about using the breathing mask head from the Blood Angels Tactical box on the Blood Angels Terminator Captain model, but would this look funny or not work at all? I don't have the models on me at the moment

Bare heads work fine on terminators, but helmeted ones would look strange.

The rebreather head may fit - some are wider than others - and they generally look pretty cool. Most terminator kits come with some bare heads that are a good example of this. Helmeted Space Marine heads look goofy as hell on Terminator bodies though.

I'm hoping it will, my aim is to do a sort of gritty Captain Tycho in Terminator armour, with the breathing mask as a sort of equivilant for his half Death Mask

Helmets can be made to work... I was always quite happy with this one:

And the skull-looking Chaos Marine helmet is great for Chaplain conversions.

The bare heads across the whole marine range are pretty much all interchangeable between power armour and terminator armour, although some of the Space Wolf heads will be problematic with all that hair.

It all depends on the head in question. Standard PA helmets are more difficult to make work (Although insainiak's example above is an excellent example of how to do it right), but some others do work. For example, this Terminator used a Red Scorpions Honour Guard helmet and I thought the effect worked well:

A lot of it is personal taste I suppose.

As others have said, most bare space marine heads will fit inside terminator armour.

As for fitting a standard SM helmet inside TDA, it can look lame if done wrong.
Essentially the helmet will not fit and kind of stick out awkwardly. This can kinda be seen in Warpig1815's example (though the helmet shape and pose compensate for this and it actually looks good without any additional alteration)
In most other cases however you'll have to create room for the helmet to fit properly, as well as possibly removing unseen sections of the helmet.

@Xendarc - Yeah, that was the only time I've used a PA helmet in TDA and it was only because I like the style of helmet that I really bothered. In most cases, it's too much of a faff to cut the back out to fit it in and it was only because I wanted the 'head down, bracing for incoming fire' type of look that I got away with it. Not to mention that as I used one of the push-fit DV Terminators, the whole inside was solid and I had to cut the original helmet out first - nightmare...
