I played fantasy back in the day and have a collection of Tomb King models (not enough to play a good army). For those of you who are more into the Sigmar scene, do you see people playing the Kings? Have they disappeared completely or are people still looking to bring them to the table?

I want to know if I should (or even can) sell them.

It depends. They have one of the best units in matched play, but they have a ton of crap that can't work well on its own. Essentially they have one really good list.

I do love them though. They're my main army and I intend to keep playing them for as long as GW continues to include their points as a legacy army.

I do need a few pieces for my collection though. Mind if I message you?

I have done fairly well with tomb kings, I rely on cavalry and chariots primarily, but the tomb guard and necrosphinx can deliver when needed. With AoS you dont really need a warhammer FB capable force.

Los Angeles

I built a TK army right before they got squatted and specifically for AoS. Basically it's the Royal Chariot battalion and Settra. Undefeated at my store so far!

Nothing, and I mean nothing, tops Settra + Chariots. TK in the purely competitive sense, are so mono-build it hurts. :-p

Settra + Tomb King mounted + Necrotect + Royal Warsphinx cost a fortune, but can make a unit of say... 6 or more chariots move 23" BEFORE charging, making double attacks on the charge, Hitting and Wounding on 2's for 24 attacks per model.

And then their Icon + a Standard Bearer are returning two full chariots per turn.

ITS GROSS. :-p

I play a lot of TK, and I think you can go a number of diverse builds with them. I fail to see how the chariot build would be the be all end all of TK - with no rend there are a lot of defensive builds that can withstand them, in my experience. There's a lot of crazy synergies you can build with them though, and with a ton of different units (Bone Giants, Archers, Necro Knights, Tomb Guard, etc...). They are a lot of fun to play! You can also combine them with other death units with good results - for example, Spirit Hosts and Mortis Engines have an insane damage output when within 18" of Settra, and SSCs can be used together with Banshees to good effect.

If could also be interested in some of your units, if you're still into selling. Sending a pm.
