Hi all,

I am doing up a Deathwing force and I've started painting some of the models I have gathered. This is my first test model and I just feel like something is missing that I can't quite pick up on.

Do you have any suggestions that need to make the model POP more? It feels a bit bland and a bit Christmasy. But that could be me.. Suggestions?

An arm perhaps?

Being serious though, it's honestly quite well painted. As for something not being quite right, at the moment its very center heavy and all your colour is focused there. I think you just need to pick out the studding and skulls on the legs, give it a nice contrasting base and it should pop.

Unfortunately, sometimes models just don't look quite right until they are entirely finished.

I'm glad you mentioned this because i haven't finished the legs yet! So right that a lot of the color is pulling your eyes ot the details, but I guess that also helps if you do the details good.

Thanks man. I'll post up when done!

This might be a really annoying suggestion, but could you change the colour of the ropes? You're absolutely right about how tricky it can be to avoid Deathwing becoming the Christmas Chapter, and you've got the red of the rope (plus that sword in the center of the chest aquila) right next to some green and cream, right in the center of the model. Personally, I painted my Deathwing ropes Screamer Pink, so they had more of a purplish colour to them.

This is only if you're unhappy with them though. I think that one looks really good, to be honest. You've got a really excellent bone colour there.

Yea good point. I might do them black with grey highlights.
