Greeting all !!
First post so ive been mulling around with a box of calth set and finally dreamed up my 19th legion dream team !!! I didnt want to get all snazzy and get all the chest and shoulders i wanted to focus the little bit of hobby funds i had on reasonable items that make me fit into the Rite of War, Decapitation Strike. With that being said i added to the calth box with Corvus (so excited to have a primarch) a Storm Eagle for the cataphracii and Contemptor (added a Conversion Beamer). 3 Drop Pods, 10 mark IV jump packs, 7 Chain Swords, 7 Bolt Pistols, 2 Missile Launchers and 2 Meltaguns's and a pair of apothecaries.
So here it is !!!

Space Marines:Raven Guard Warhammer 30k Master of Legion: Decapitation Strike 2485PTS

Primarch: Corax 450PTS

HQraetor: Artificer Armor / Jump Pack / Pair of Claws upgrade to Talons / Iron Halo / Paragon Blade / Digital Lasers / Master Craft PTS 210

HQ:Consul:Medicae: Artificer Armor / Refractor Field / Jump Pack PTS 125

Elites:Veteran Tactical Squad(10): Artificer Armor / Vexilla /(2) Heavey Bolters and Suspensor Webs / Power Fist / Plasma Pistol / Melta Bombs Squad PTS 245

Elites:Terminator Squad (5): Cataphracii Armor / (3) Pair of Claws upgrade to talons / (2) Power Fists / Heavey Flamer / Grenade Harnass PTS 290

Elites:Apthecarion(1):Attached to Tactical / (1) Artificer Armor / PTS 55

Troop:Assault Squad(10): Artificer Armor / Pair of claws upgrade to Talons / (2) Power Weapons PTS 225

Troop:Tactical Squad(10): Artificer Armor / Vox / Vexilla / Melta Bomb PTS 160

Troop:Tactical Support(5): Artificer Armor / (5) Meltagun's PTS 185

Heavey Suppport:Heavey Support Squad (5): Artificer Armor / (5) Missle Lauchers / Augury PTS 175

Fast Attack: Dark Wing: 310PTS

Dedicated Transport (3): Drop Pods PTS 105

Well there it is i believe its a fair blend of everything i can handle most things effectively, i do want to add some Dark Fury's for a little extra fluff. Im a bit torn on the Praetor vs Centurion my thinking is i want the assault squad to be a bit tougher and the medicae gives me that especially all the rules the rite of war grants assault marines. ** Update thanks for info Guys have updated based on your input ** EDIT reworked the rite of war to Decap Strike Use the Tactical Squad with Vox to infiltrate and bring in all the Drop Goodness and Assault goodness. Then the bird will arrive to feed on whats left muaaaaahhhh !!!

I believe you need another hq and another troop as the primus medicae can't be taken as a compulsory hq and the support squad can't be taken as a compulsory troop.

For Khaela Mensha Khaine
For the Emperor and Sanguinius!

Also, Lightning Claws are not power weapons, so you would not be able to give standard Assault Marines them. You get to choose between a Power Axe, Sword, Mace, Lance.

No Lance either, unless the new LCAL removed the restriction the previous one had that removed Lances from the list of generic Power Weapons.

Tried sneaking that one in thought it would be more fluffy lmao, instead ill just give the sarge a pair and now that i have a new HQ ill be giving him a pair as well so some claws in my assault marines after all !!! Thing that is dogging me is i dont have Dark Age book yet its in the mail, i will have firmer understanding of list then. Im trying to build a Alpha Strike List first attempt at it

You also can't have a 9 man tac squad. Min size for tac squads in 30k is 10 for 150, and up to 10 more for 10 points a model

One option for a full lightening claw assault squad is the Vanguard Vets. The problem is that it gets expensive.

I run a VV squad with JP, LC on all, including Sgt, with a Chaplain with JP, Plas, digital weapons, and Armor of Shadows
Cost 325.

Of all the races of the universe the Squats have the longest memories and the shortest tempers. They are uncouth, unpredictably violent, and frequently drunk. Overall, I'm glad they're on our side!

I think you may be mistaken, this is 30k, I don't think Vanguard Vets exist here?

For Drop Assault your compulsory troops need to be Assault Squads, so that means you need atleast 2 assault squads for your Age of Darkness list to be legal.

A Legion Champion is classed as a Support Officer and thus can't be made as your compulsory HQ choice for your list either.

Another fault is that you need all your non-deepstriking units, aka your heavy support squad, tacts and contemptor can't be taken unless within a flier transport; a storm eagle or darkwing. You can't take drop pods as immobile units aren't allowed.

Vanguard veterans aren't a thing in 30k, if you're wanting a mass group of jump infantry with claws, your best bet is a squad of Dark Fury.

They arent Support Officers, only the Librarian, Primus Medicae, Praevian and the Master of Signals are Support Officers. OH and the Herald, he is an SO too.

Where is that stated? I can't find the reference for that?

To my knowledge, it was only Master of Signals, Librarians, Primus Medicae, Praevians, Heralds and Moritats that couldn't be compulsory HQs.

You didnt need to upgrade the Champion though, and if you are making him a Praetor it's probably better to just give him the cheaper option of a Paragon Blade rather than two Raven's Talons.

Raven Guard can take Drop Pods for Rhinos, Also the Contemptor is attached to the Storm Eagle toting the Terminators. I have my rite of war confused (my apologies) i want to use Decapitation Strike Rite of War.

Was also thinking i might want to leave that open for the Moritat-Prime Kaedus Nex to add down the road.
