This is a variation on the classic Wraithguard deathstar for an upcoming ITC event in August.
The wraithcannons have been swapped out for d-scythes due to the ITC's change to Invisibility and the spiritseers are there to ensure I get the right powers (namely Gate and Invis) and to provide the Wraithguard with battle focus. I'm expecting a lot of KDK (probably with the Cabal thrown in), superfriends deathstars and Eldar.
Iyanden CAD
HQ
Farseer on bike [115]
2 x Spiritseers, spirit stone [155]
TROOPS
3 scatter bikes [81]
8 x Wraithguard with d-scythes [336]
HEAVY SUPPORT
3 dark reapers, exarch, starshot missiles [114]
LORD OF WAR
Skathach Wraithknight with deathshroud cannons + 1 scatter laser [345]
FORTIFICATION
Bunker with comms relay [75]
CAD
HQ
Eldrad [195]
Baharroth [170]
TROOPS
2 x 3 scatterbikes [162]
Total 1748

You need to drop some points to get a second Troop in that detachment. I'd recommend swapping 2 Wraith Guard for another unit of Scatter bikes. 6 D-scythes are plenty --

I've tried bringing this list a couple times and when it works, it annihilates. Since the wraithguard don't count as troops anymore I would drop 1 Scatterlaser from each bike squad and drop 1 wraithguard to let you bring another unit of 3 jetbikes with 2 scatterlasers. Here's what it would look like: Iyanden CAD HQ Farseer on bike [115] 2 x Spiritseers, spirit stone [155] <------- what spirit stone is this? TROOPS 2 x 3 Windriders [142] 2 Scatterlasers each 7 x Wraithguard with d-scythes [294] HEAVY SUPPORT 3 dark reapers, exarch, starshot missiles [114] LORD OF WAR Skathach Wraithknight with deathshroud cannons + 1 scatter laser [345] FORTIFICATION Bunker with comms relay [75] CAD HQ Eldrad [195] Baharroth [170] TROOPS 2 x 3 Windriders [142] 2 Scatterlasers each Total: 1746

I thought so too, but I double checked with Reece from FrontlineGaming, as well as the TO of the event, and they both said you can take wraithguard as troops. Happy days! I don't have the book to hand but it's around page 86 or 87 of the supplement Automatically Appended Next Post: Helvost wrote:I've tried bringing this list a couple times and when it works, it annihilates.

Spirit Stone of Anathlan. The relic from the Eldar book that allows you to reduce the warp charge cost of psychic powers by 1. Means I can get Voices of Twilight off more reliably.

I'm not seeing the good reason for a COMs relay. Who is going to be Reserve dependent?
Skathach has OnGoing Rs built in, and Gate is an immediate thing. You've no spiders or War Walkers ....
Well, if you do have a good reason for a Reserve bump, then swapping out the bunker / COMs relay's points for an autarch ( a few more points) would be good. He's resilient enough for a little boostiness here or there.
Unless the bunker is just for the Reapers to shoot from, which leads to me next suggestion; And ADL with Icarus or Quadgun for punking fliers.
Last suggestion:
ScatterShield for the Skathy. Without Toe-In Cover in ITC, and lotsa Grav with Hunter's Eye, enemies wielding PSy-Shriek, and all that, an Invuln really extends his lifespan.

Two reasons for the bunker. The first is to protect my star from hard alpha strike armies. The sorts of lists that get played in UK events often have the ability to table people in a single turn, including my own, so it just means if I don't get first turn, my bomb won't get wiped.
The other is for null deploying, for pretty much the same reason as above. It means I can keep my bikes and wk off the table to protect them from getting alpha'd.
That's not a bad idea re flyers and I think if it was an 1850 event, I'd consider it.
I also couldn't make up my mind re the scatter shield on the Skathy - I'm anticipating a lot of msu (skyhost daemons, hound spam, gladius etc) so I'm leaning towards the extra firepower, but the toe-in-cover thing is certainly giving me pause.
Thanks for the tips!

You're telling me - I've been trying to think of ways of getting battle focus on my wraithguard for months, and that formation in the main book is just way too expensive. Never realised that Iyanden was legal in the ITC all along!
The only restriction re relics is that the same character can't take an item from both tables - the wording says "may take" rather than "must".
