almost a no brainer if you've any interest in this sort of RPG (even if like me you preferred the original world of darkness (and thanks to lancorz on beasts of war who brought it to my attention)

Thanks for the heads up! I'm often confused by all the different editions with Vampire, is this the most current version of the World of Darkness rules?

Nope - this is the older/original version. The revised is Vampire: The Requiem.

<Edit> Also, it doesn't have the 20th Anniversary version of the main rulebook; looks like it's the reprint version from the late 90's. That's not a bad thing, but it's like the difference between the Retail and Ultimate version of the books.

There is also the V:tM 20th anniversary edition, which compiles a great deal of the content from a great many of those books offered, as well as some minor updates, crunch wise. Not to shoot this sale in the foot, but if you're interested in the material, I'd probably pick up that before the content offered in this bundle. Outside of a couple of the splatbooks, there's not a ton of worthwhile lore or crunch there that's not in the 20th edition

That said, the Tzimisce and Giovanni splatbooks, and the Guide to the Sabbat are (imo) probably the absolute best material offered in this bundle. They have the "bombshell" level lore events in them, and are written on a much higher level than a lot of the other offerings.

Requiem falls under the nWOD line, whereas Masquerade falls under the older cWOD. Looks like they are trying to somewhat unify them through the new Chronicles of Darkness core book (formerly the nWOD World of Darkness). Not sure how well this works as nWOD turned me off long ago and haven't read it since the mid 'aughts. If V20 is like M20, you're probably better off getting that for cWOD, which doesn't necessarily invalidate older books, but does rehash or cover them explicitly. And yeah, the Tzimisce book is fantastic.
