I'm looking at it from a future lore perspective. If they push up the timeline slightly, and make Ynead a thing. and if Ynead is also the corpse god.

How will the Eldar react? to the imperium, and Ynead if he is the emperor

How will the IoM react? to thge eldar, if the emperor is now an amalgamation of eldar and psyker souls?

How will chaos react?

just curious on your thoughts

About the same way I would do if Gork turned out to be Malal under very heavy disguise for the purpose of bringing down the Alpha Legion, i.e. baffled.

Humanity would be repulsed to share the Emperor with xenos scum. The Eldar, IIRC, need to all die for Ynnead to be born, so they couldn't react, and I can't speak for chaos, unfortunately.

There's some ambiguity in the fluff as to whether Ynnead will come about from ALL the Eldar dying, or just a critical mass of them.

If that turned out to be the Emperor, it wouldn't make sense, and I imagine neither side would be willing to accept it. Because it doesn't track.

I guess it could work out if the Emperor somehow used the Astronomican to tap into Infinity Circuits and use them as a kind of power source. If he could control it and then efficiently combat Chaos (closing off the Warp from reality, rebuilding the Webway in the process), I can see it happening potentially, but the Eldar would NEVER admit what was happening. (Even the ones in the know would claim the Emperor 'must have been' one of the Old Ones, or an Eldar in disguise, or something.) Humans would reject the idea as well.

I doubt the Eldar would go for lying to themselves. I see accusing humans of blasphemy followed by war as more likely.

The short answer is that they are not the same thing, never have been never will be. The whole idea is frankly pure head cannon with nothing to support it in the fluff.

One of my pet peeves when it comes to sci-fi is that everything important always has to revolve around humanity somehow. “Oh look those non-human life forms have something amazing… oh wait it’s actually ours we just forgot about it. I feel so sorry for those stupid aliens, too bad they can’t be as awesome as us.”

To have Ynead turn out to be the Emperor and that the Eldar were just too stupid to realise it is just cheap. The idea seems to have been dreamt up by people that just can’t except that the Eldar might just have an endgame that is entirely their own and that it does not revolve around humanity and their beloved corpse god .

Oh and by the way Ynead is a goddess not a god so useless the emperor was keeping secrets hidden beneath that armour then I would say this theory is a non-starter (then again I would laugh myself silly if the god emperor really was an empress all this time. Just imagine all those horrified faces )

Source for Ynnead being female?

There's also the fact that Corpse Emperor is an insult not a title so that part makes no sense either.

It won't work unless GW butcher the Fluff in a way never seen before.

Eldar emotions take shape in the Warp and when enough of those took shape Slaanesh was born, we are not talking about a demi god but just one of the four power of Chaos. Now Ynnead it's the eldar embodiment of hope his last ace up the sleeve even if it's become a reality or not it just works under the assumption that when enough eldar believe on this embodiment it may born on the same way Slaanesh did.

The fact it's just that unless enough Eldar (both living and death ones) believe in Ynnead it will not born, that's just it's quite a gambit the Eldar are desperate enough trying to perform, now try to explain how they'll believe The Emperor is Ynnead...

P.S: The biggest event that will happen should Ynnead become a reality would be the total collapse of the Astronomican due massive Warp storms across the entire galaxy. One of the aspects people tend to forget it's that the Eldar Fall and Slaanesh birth brought balance to the Warp and allowed the Emperor to launch his Great crusade, since the Warp was highly unstable due the constant conflict among the Chaos gods.

I would actually love this but I think we all know in our hearts that if the Emperor was to actually return it would be to lead his true children the mighty Squats when they finally make their glories return.

I think you've mixed up a few things. The GEoM is called a corpse god ironically by the forces of Chaos as an insult.

Ynnead is the Eldar god of the dead, formed of the souls found in their infinity circuits.

As far as Chaos God roles go, GEoM is probably some kind of God of Order, and Ynnead is something else entirely.

The GEoM actually identifies as a gender-transcendent golden snowflake.

Everything I've seen regarding the birth of Ynnead related to the Craftworlders and the Infinity Circuit. The Exodites and Dark Eldar don't figure into it, if I remember correctly.

The reason why fans theorize a link between Ynnead, and the Emperor in a reborn form, is because of the mention in the past of a "Star Child" and it being the Emperor returning to a physical form (and being a true god). That, and the fact that the fate of both Humanity and the Eldar have been tied together every since the end of the Age of Technology. Toss in the Emperor being representative of what Humans would be when they finally matured in their psychic evolution, and the nature of his birth in prehistoric Anatolia (being similar to how Ynnead is supposed to come to be), and you can see why some people make the connection.

The Warp has been a nasty, chaotic place every since the war between the Old Ones and C'Tan ended. As for the Warpstorms that abated around M30, they weren't caused by conflict between the Chaos gods. They were caused by the gestation of Slaanesh, due to the slide into corruption of the Eldar. Also, Slaanesh's birth didn't bring some sort of "balance" to the Warp, thus ending the storms. It was because of the violent nature of Slaanesh's birth and immediate aftermath, that ended the storms that bought down Mankind's ancient federation and began the Age of Strife.

"There were those philosophers who took grim delight in pointing out how the humans’ fate was unfolding as a cruder version of the Fall. Iyanna did not agree. I think you need to brush up on your English a bit. "Her" is clearly referring to Iyanna not Ynnead.

Well thats a complete facepalm moment on my part, sorry. I'm pretty sure I've seen Ynnead referred to as a god in the codex so maybe it's like Slaanesh and is androgenous.

It seems apt that Ynnead would be female as it will be her who delivers the Eldar, yet it is She-who-Thirsts, who would doom the Eldar. In any case, considering the sheer complexity of a Diety, it's rather irrelevant what gender they are. In the case of a Diety, gender is probably meaningless.
