Hey folks, my wife is getting me something I've wanted for...many, many years. Ever since it came out, really (...suffice it to say anticipation levels are high). The Forgeworld Chaos Decimator ( https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Chaos-Decimator-Daemon-Engine# ) . Man that's even awesome to type.

Anyway, I have a question before anything is bought. I've always tried to think of what arms to get for it, and I can't help but wonder that there could be other arms out there than the standard ranged options available (I would like to do two ranged weapons):

https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/Decimator-Butcher-Cannon
^initially, years ago, I used to think I'll just get two of those. But to me, they're just too thin and small compared to its incredible bulk.

https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/Decimator-Soulburner-Petard
^these? Far too short and well, can-like!

https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/Decimator-Siege-Claw
^I was thinking of combining the butcher cannon with these siege claws (just sticking the cannon in the middle of them), but it's not...QUITE what I was going for.

So my question is to you guys who are more knowledgable, how easy/reasonable (without needing to do much if any any green stuff work) would it be to slap any of THESE on as arms, instead?:

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/c/c0/Forgefiend01.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130316224413

or

https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/Contemptor-Pattern-Heavy-Bolter-Arm

(My preference between the two of these is the former - the Forgefiend arms)

What do you all think? How would this work with the joints? Is it even feasible to use a Maulerfiend to get its cannons on, like this? Oh, and the real reason why I started this thread - would these be in good *proportion* to everything else (such as the upper arm of the decimator) to even make it worth it (as I have no access to either the Decimator or the Forgefiend to compare, myself)?

Honestly I think it looks great with two butcher cannons or two siege claws. The dual siege claws is the most competitive configurations, which isn't that competitive.

Yeah suffice it to say I'm not in it for the competitive side of things But I will game with it!

I wish there was a way to get a scale comparison, though...that's really all I need.

On moon miranda.

The Decimator's arms don't really interchange with much of anything else. You'll need to do some clipping and possibly green stuffing to make arms/weapons from other kits work. That said, it's a Chaos model, so you can be rather sloppy and still have it turn out great as long as you paint it to match.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Thing is I'm going to convert it to an Imperial model, lol. But yeah I guess I should be prepared to put in some work. Do you know if there is any way to find information on dimensions for these weapons etc.? How long each is?

If you have some time to wait, I think a friend of mine has one with the butcher cannon and claw, but I'd have to talk with him tomorrow about it

if you're going to make it imperial, I wouldn't use the Forgefield arms, however if you don't mind the expense and some work, you could use these:

https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Aircraft-Punisher-Cannons

shouldn't be massively difficult to mount, I would just shave down the arm joing and pin them in there if you're not bothered about making them swappable, the drums can be pissed out entirely or mounted on the back/shoulders with Zinge Industries flexible ammo belts (or the stock ones heated & bent into position

MAAAN that is a CRAZY great suggestion, sir! I don't know if I ever would've noticed that. Plus they're already imperial...I think I might want to shorten them just a wee bit so that could take a bit of work but yeah, that is a much more affordable idea. Thank you so much for that!

Dude if you could grab me those dimensions that would be really great. Maybe then I could try my luck emailing forgeworld with the odd question, hahah. Thanks a ton if you're able to do that, no worries if not.

I got back from my friend, this is what he sent me
"Decimator is about 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide from shoulder to shoulder. It's conversion beamer is 2 1/2 inches long and half an inch wide. The butcher cannon is 2 3/4 inches long and half an inch wide. The siege claw is 2 inches long and 1 inch wide."

You are a miracle worker. Thank you SO much for going out of your way for a stranger like that. I'm definitely going to put this to use, but initial impressions are that that is DEFINITELY something I can work with. Thank you & your friend SO much, again!

Hey, so...it's been a little...while...but I bought the Chaos Decimator! Rofl.

Now I'm looking most keenly at the claw that this guy uses:

https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Chaos-Knight-Rampager-2019

And somehow, someone was able to get a claw looking like this, on the left hand:

Does anyone know how to acquire or convert such a left hand as that, which looks so natural? I'm hoping this would actually fit my decimator.

PS-I'm surprised this wasn't in my OP, but I had also since considered the arms from this, now as my second pick: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Chaos-Space-Marine-Maulerfiend-2019
