I have a question regarding Baneblades, specifically the Doomhammer and

For ITC purposes, you may still start off in an allied transport vehicle, IIRC.

-Does this mean that if I start my Dominions, who have Scout, in a Baneblade, that Baneblade can scout?

-What if I start other non-scouting units in the Baneblade, such as Techpriests and Servitors? Can it still scout/not scout?

Lastly.

- Do I need to have a full guard CAD, per ITC rules, in order to successfully take a Baneblade with my Sisters of Battle? I seem to recall, at least in Army Builder (I know thats hardly proof of anything), a Superheavy Tank Detatchment that was just that, a 1-3 group of Baneblades.

If you read the Scout rule it is clear that Scout only confers to a Dedicated Transport the unit is deployed in, not just any old transport so non of this will work

And there is no such thing as a Superheavy Tank Detachment in normal 40k

Thanks, I think.

I'm working with half-rules, since I want to plan before I buy.

I suppose then, there's no getting around having to take a full guard CAD to get access to a Baneblade?

In ITC that is correct (there is a formation that is just 3 baneblades but is not legal in ITC)

Does no one else want to address the fact that baneblades are not transports?

Some of the variants of the chassis are transports, but that is just the doomhammer and the stormlord.

Crownaxe still has the correct answer for both any superheavy transport(an aspect of the question), or any non-dedicated transport and scouts.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

There actually is, three baneblades of any variant and a up to I believe three techpriests. Any enemy unit treats all terrain within 12" of a superheavy as difficult, the techpriests gain +2 to repair rolls. And if three primary wepoms target the same unit they take a pinning check on 3d6.

Note that CrownAxe said, "in normal 40K". That formation is from and can only be used in games of Apocalypse, which isn't normal 40K.

It's not apocalypse, it's from the kauyon book for normal 40k

I stand corrected! I'm not sure why I thought that was an Apocalypse formation. I even looked through Mont'ka (it's in Mont'ka, rather than Kauyon) thinking I'd seen it there, but skipped right past it.

Don't know how it works with ETC/ITC rulings but could be quite nasty to bring at 1850

The Cadian supplement also has the Super-Heavy Support Element that allows for a single Baneblade chassis.

Thanks Lee.

I suppose I should have specified "Baneblade Chassis" instead of Baneblade.
