Just wondering something about a raven guard praetor. How fluffy and how viable game wise would it be to have a praetor using duel archaeotech pistols? Possibly with a jump pack and definitely with a refractor field?

It sounds cool but I doubt it will be very useful. Praetors rely on melee to do damage.

Yeah dude, if you want to twin pistol it up, go Moritat (although this limits you to plasmas or vokites)
Give your praetor twin claws and a volkite charger for the best melee / some shooting combo.

Why not Volkite charger and paragon blade?

PB is an excellent challenge weapon, whereas LC (especially the Talons) are good at dealing with massed 3+ (talons also bring rending), so it's more of a role choice and how you're building the rest of your army.

That's also perfectly acceptable. But I think the OP was trying to go for a more fluffy approach by using raven's talons. Either works. I personally use the paragon blade for my RG praetor.
