So... Russian-connected Paul Manafort got demoted in Trump's campaign... That's the good news. The bad news is that he replaced him with : Executive chairman of Breitbart News Stephen K. Bannon as the campaign's chief executive... and Breibart's pollster Kellyanne Conway will take over as campaign manager. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/08/17/trump-reshuffles-staff-in-his-own-image/ So, there you have it. Breibart is officially the media wing of the Trump campaign. Now, the Trump supporters can't ever complain how ABC/CNN/NBC are the Democrat's media wing.

Not defending Perry or Trump here... but, I object to the idea of whenever a Gold Star family steps into the political arena, they should be completely immune.
However, they do deserve our absolute respect.

They certainly are not immune to criticism that's warranted. But Trump played that "Look at the Muslim man making his wife stand there and STFU!" card, and that's never a good card to play.

However, they do deserve our absolute respect. I think the point is that Trump did not attack or address what they said but attacked them personally, including the wife who said nothing at all. Defending that kind of politics is idiotic, especially when basically the entire political spectrum has already come out against it, not to mention its (possible) effect on Trumps polling scores.

He was the Republican nominee. That's about the long and short of it.

Does Perry have a drinking problem? Not really joking with this question, as maybe half the time I hear him speak publicly he seems tipsy if not drunk, ala the "live free or die" speech.

The difficulty in sticking someone with a nickname is you have to pick something that makes them look bad. It's why "Killary" is such a terrible one, Killary sounds like the nickname an AC-130 might have. Similarly, being called "The Renegade Jew" only makes you sound awesome. I hear that, I picture I guy behind enemy lines in Berlin, scalping Nazis.

Vojislav Seselj, leader of the Serbian Radical Party and loud-mouthed bigot whose racist invective kicked off Serbia's horrific ethnic cleansing campaign, led a pro-Trump rally in Belgrade to protest the state visit of Democratic VP Joe Biden.
The activists, led by the head of Serbia’s ultranationalist Radical Party, Vojislav Seselj, chanted “Donald Trump!” and marched outside the country’s Parliament wearing t-shirts bearing the name and likeness of the American candidate.
Speaking to his supporters in somewhat broken English, Seselj said that the message for Serbian-Americans was simple: “Vote Trump, for future of Serbia.” In his own language he told Reuters later: “Trump is the alternative to globalization. He will destroy old centers of power in the United States and he is a supporter of Russia.” The Serb nationalist also praised Trump for “restoring American pride.”
Another stellar backer there.
So that's these guys, the KKK, the Aryan supremacists and the borderline psychotic NWO/Birther/lizards control everything brigade as well
Think they only need 1 more to join the group and they qualify either for a secret base in a swamp or a catchy name -- Axis of Evil II or somesuch.

Two more months of this
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
The result is pretty much a foregone conclusion, and as long as Clinton doesn't set fire to the declaration of independence, it's hard to see what Trump can do...
So in order to relieve the boredom, I was thinking about doing some retro presidential campaigns...
Let's reminisce about Rutherford B Hayes' bid for the White House, or who could forget the excitement of Warren Harding's front porch campaign, the house parties, the orgies...
I need something to cheer me up about American politics these days...

I get this dread feeling that I'm going to go mad and end up chewing my hands off or something, if this goes on any longer...
If truth be told, I've lived through and been an activist in 2 history changing referendums in two years, plus a very important General Election campaign...
I've always been a firm believer in civic duty, people get the democracy they deserve etc etc, so that's why I get involved...
I think I need a break from politics, headlines and reading too many opinion pieces...
Back OT.
Question: If Trump's ratings keeping tanking, and Trump decides to throw in the towel, is it all over? The GOP can't parachute somebody else in can they?
There's nothing in the constitution that says you must have a vote if all bar one candidate pulls out, is there?
