Doing some more filming for YouTube today, our guest this weekend is bringing space wolves. He is fielding a strong lift from what I can make out, and I'm looking at fielding a pure Eldar list. To that end I've come up with this, we'll be playing maelstrom, but I'm also hoping to hear what you guys think as to its viability in tournaments.

Craftworld Eldar - CAD

HQ - Farseer, Bike, Spirit stone - Warlord
HQ - Farseer, Bike, Singing Spear

Elites - 5x Wraithguard, D-Scythes, Wave Serpent With TL SL, SC & Vectored Engines

Troops - 3x Scatter bikes, Warlock Upgrade
Troops - 3x Scatter bikes

Fast Attack - Wave Serpent, TL SL & SC
Fast Attack - Crimson Hunter Exarch

Heavy Support - Fire Prism, Holo fields
Heavy Support - Fire Prism, Holo fields
Heavy Support - Falcon, Scatter Laser & Pulse Laser

Lord of War - Wraithknight, ghost glaive, scatter shield, 2x star cannons.

I think it's pretty strong and covers all bases?

You need more troops. I'd drop the Warlock upgrade and the FA Serpent for more bikes, and maybe Dire Avengers to put in the Falcon. Then you will have all your bases covered

Galef, without the WaveS, the WraithGs have a long foot slog. ... Unless I misread and it is 2 Wave Serpents.

Khaine's Wrath, overall, yeah the list is reasonable, given you are going heavily Mech, for a 7e list. Perhaps toss one of the WraithK's guns and help the Falcon out with HoloFs?

You did misread the list. OP has 2 Serpents. 1 dedicated to the WG (which he needs to keep), and another Fast Attack, not-dedicated-to-a-unit, Serpent. I am suggesting dropping that one, the Warlock and adding 1-2 more units of Bikes and a Dire avenger unit to ride in the Falcon (to give it ObSec).

But good catch on the Holofields, every Grav tank needs Holofields, non-negotiable. GW leaves them off and puts a points value on them as a trap to get more player to Jink.

The DAs won't give it ObSec as it will not be a DT. A transport only gets ObSec if it is taken as a DT for a unit in a slot that has ObSec (Mostly just troops in a CAD, although I believe there are some others).

I meant that if the DAs stay in the Falson, you would measure their ObSec from the Hull of the Falcon. Or does it not work that way in 7th?

Ok, I'm not against more bikes, but surely I'm better off dropping the falcon rather than the serpent for an objective secured serpent as it can then be taken as a DT.

Also, is there any use for non upgraded bikes? Saving points not taking cannons or lasers just for objective grabbing?

Yeah, that's not a bad idea either. I'd worry about lacking anti-tank turn 1, since you really only have the Fire-Prisms for that. Crimson Hunter might not come in turn 2 and the WK won't get into combat til turn 2 at the earliest. It would be nice to have a Bright-lance Falcon to add some turn 1 anti-tank, but having a Scatterlaser Serpent with Obsec (because DAs) is a good choice too.

Yes, and unless you are playing Maelstrom, keep them in Reserve.

I must say I'm a little confused with the list, your second Wave Serpent is not carrying anything and neither is your falcon, plus (and correct me if I'm wrong as I'm doing this by memory) but I think you're under your points limit by about 133 points.

So lets get into the meat of the list:

1) You have very few troops, and therefore very few scatterlaser shots for a Saim Hann list. For a tournaments, I'd say 4 squads of 3 is the absolute minimum. If you're not taking scatter laser spam and want to stay fluffy, at least bring in some vypers or something to boost you're S6 shooting.

2) You need to have a transport for the D-scythes, no doubt... but unless you run 3 for the cloud strike formation, leave the empty falcon at home and definitely the empty wave serpent. As a dedicated transport for Dire Avengers they're fine as it give you a fairly dependable objective secured troops choice. An empty FA wave serpent is a waste of points.

3) Fire Prisms... I love the look of fire prisms, that and the Crimson Hunter lured me to the Eldar side, but it's not good, that single shot for 125 points is not efficient. Night spinners with their torrent S7-9 flamers and barrages are much better for the chassis but even they are rare. If you are dead set on using them, have them permanently guided or run them in the Weaver of Runes formation to give them twin linked - even then I've only seen them disappoint.

Wraithknight maybe a tad overkill with the star cannons but if you have the spare points, why not? It's always a good buy

Crimson Hunter is OK, i've sniped too many special weapons with h the Exarch's special rule and killed a few Imperial knights with the Crimson death formation... It's a sub optimal choice but fluffy those BS 5 lances are always handy though.

In any case, I'd like to see some more S6 shots to deal with transports, more ignores cover, more troops.

I like the list, i feel, as most people have said, that its lacking in troops. I'd drop the falcon for more bikes. You might struggle to do much with the Crimson Hunter (I regularly field three, their not so good on their own)

I see youre trying to use your serpent for obsec and in that case id find the points to stick guardian unit in it, theyre pretty good with a warlock for holding down a zone nd really fun to use.

Other than that its not bad. Although the best way to get the most out of your list is using the warhost.

Ok, thanks for the feedback guys.

So, I've actually had a lot of luck with the fire prisms and their large blasts. Night spinners are something I'd like to give a go. They seem decent.

I agree, more bikes are needed. More have been ordered. I don't want any guardians or avengers though. So, not sold on that idea.

As for the war host being a better choice? I categorically disagree. The ability to take objective secured jetbikes is mental. Uber broken units. The game I played with this list was filmed for YouTube. I'll post it on here when it's ready. I hope you all enjoy.
