Ok, so i'm a little confused.

Started 40k in late 6th, and started playing necrons as my first army, and my buddy and I have recently started are second army, mine being chaos daemons and don't own too many models yet but have played 7th ed games with the hardback chaos daemons codex which I believe was one of the first hardbacks to come out in late 6th, but designed for 7th.

I knew the curse of wolfen codex / supplement came out last spring and I was busy with school so wasn't paying too much attention. and I also know that theres a virtual updated faq'd version of the daemons codex called chaos daemons: daemonic incursion which has the new bloodthirster profiles and detachments / formations, etc.

I read the d4chan pages for tactics and under the 7th chaos daemons it talks about how there now exists warlord tables and relics for all four allignments rather than the generic one found in the first hardback daemon codex but it also talks about curse of wolfen stuff as well.

I want to be able to take advantage of the new traits / relics for specific gods and just want to confirm which codex they are in, the hardback curse of wolfen or the virtual daemonic alignment and if in the virtual, if its possible to view without an ipad. I guess I cant seem to find enough information on them under their descriptions on itunes / gw / and chan. Sorry for any confusion, any help would be appreciated thank you!

I can't say anything about the digital copies. I still prefer physical, unalterable, quick to reference, non-reliant on batteries codices. But I can tell you that all the extra traits and relics are in the Warzone: Fenris, Curse of the Wulfen book.

All you ever need to play Daemon is in the Deamon Codex & Wulfen supplement. And the supplement is well worth it.

I think they did briefly release a hardback of the Daemonic Incursion edition right when Curse of the Wulfen was released.

The rules between the Daemonic Incursion Edition and Curse of the Wulfen should be identical. The DI version is just all the daemon-relevant rules put into one codex. Note that this edition also includes the Exalted Flamer (which is available on the online FAQ available on the GW website) and Be'Lakor, widely considered to be one of the best HQ choices for a Chaos Daemons army (both are in Curse of the Wulfen as well I believe).

Basically either the normal Chaos Daemons Codex + Curse of the Wulfen

OR

Daemonic Incursion Edition of the Chaos Daemons Codex.

I don't think any other source has more stuff for Daemons after that unless you wanna go Forge World.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

Alright I see, thank you.

I have no problem buying the hard copy curse of wolfen if It has the new daemon stuff in it, I just wanted to make sure that it contained the daemon stuff too, couldnt find a hard copy in store locally. But if it was only in the daemonic incursion virtual edition, then that'd suck cause i'd have to buy an ipad too haha.

Just wanted to confirm, thank you very much!

The limited edition daemon box was.. odd. It contained a mini hardback daemon codex, with references to the Bloodthirsters in the other book and no errata from the FAQs (Bloodletter Crew is missing still). The new rules were contained in a mini softback booklet.. It's nicer than having to carry around the CotW campaign book, but sadly the books weren't merged.
