Hey all, I am taking part in the Brave the Shave campaign to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and have organised a tournament at my local store this weekend to help. The brave the shave involves me pledging to shave off my hair in order to raise the money, and I have also pledged to have off my beard as well as added incentive. My local store owners have kindly agreed to have their monthly tournament be a fund raiser. As such we decided to have some special rules for the tournament. First off there will be £1 a re-roll available throughout the day. The second rule is about squadron compilation; specifically the fact that you are only allowed one upgrade per ship, so that the ships are 'going bald'. The idea of completely bald ships with no upgrades was shot down by the group. As such have put together this list that my partner will be flying on the day:

Glaive Squadron pilot with TIE/x7 title=32pts
Glaive Squadron pilot with TIE/x7 title=32pts
Whisper with Advanced Cloaking Device=36pts

What do you guys think of the rules for the day and the list? Thought it would be nice to test people's list building skills without going complete net list. My only hope is that people don't bring just Crack swarms as it will make a boring day.

Bruins fan till the end.

Never assume anything, it will only make an ass of you and me.

Seems good given the restrictions, although I think you'll have to be extra careful with Whisper

Hope it goes well

Good luck with that, after imposing a rule that pretty clearly says "bring crack swarms".

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Good ol' Peregrine, positive as ever XD

Sounds like good ol' fun and a really... bizarre event. I hope your fundraiser works wonders!

Well you could pull off TLT Spam. Simply run a pair of PS 4 guys with the points you save not running astromechs.

Q: What do you call a Dinosaur Handpuppet?

What would be cool is a Generics only Tournament, not that it'd do much except take away fancy text and give Jumpmasters the win every time.

Five Very Different Lists that spring to mind:
- 4 TLTs on something (Probably not that great)
- Crack Swarm
- Royal Guard Interceptors with either Adaptability or Autothrusters
- As many Lambda shuttles with Heavy Laser Cannons as you can take. To fill in the gap, add any spices.
- 3 Bounty Hunters list

Good Luck!

As noted, you're likely to have issues with swarms - because they're an obvious thing to bring - but then Whisper is as good a unit for dismantling TIE fighter swarms as you're likely to see, and TIE/x7 defenders can sort of out-joust a TIE fighter.

Most importantly, if they can kill Howlrunner, they do so at a high enough pilot skill to prevent the rest of the swarm getting rerolls - that's a BIG difference in the swarm's lethality.

So the tournament happened today and we managed to raise £61 today in the form of donations and re-rolls. Not a single crack swarm in sight (though only 4 players turned up). B-wings and Defenders were the hard hitters of the day.

If anyone here feels like donating please feel free. Go to bravetheshave.org.uk put my name in (Aaron Pearson) and you get directed to my page where you can donate. Anyone on here who does donate will result in me adding a picture of me sans beard and hair.
