Does anyone have any experience using this formation? Has anyone had any success with them?

I really like the models and was thinking of running 6 Armoured Sentinels out flanking along with my guard lists (mainly armoured vets and tanks).

For extra awesome points make the character Sentinel your Warlord. Most points awarded if it gets the Warlord Trait that lets you issue orders. A Sentinel standing behind a big blob of guardsmen issuing FRFSRF is ftw.

He can only order "take aim" " move move move" or "forwards for the emperor"

There's two Warlord Traits that gives the Warlord the Voice of Command rule, which lets them issue all the basic orders.

Correct he cannot issue FRFSRF, I have only used it a few times but I have had a lot of success with it especially when combined with the Emperors Fist Armored Company Formation. I had the most success when running them either with Multi-Lasers or Autocannons and Hunter Killer Missiles if I had the points.

I think its a cool formation that makes good use of the armored sentinels. minimum 6 out flanking sentinels that are potentially breaking the line cant be totally ignored,

The only order Ive really found useful of the 3 was the forward for the emperor, it keeps at least one squad extra mobile. You could put an auger on one too right? If you got the points put some camo gear on them.

When I used them I kept them basic with the multilasers, fired 18 shots at a zooming hell turkey's ass and made it crash and burn on the turn they flanked, it was pretty dope.

Plus there's the whole preferred enemy against one unit in your opponents army thats useful as well.

The one thing im not sure of is if you use one reserve roll for the formation or for the individual units? Same with outflank, do you have to roll for separate units? anyone know?

It's 50% more plasma than equivalent points spent on plasma Eradicators so I run them at almost every opportunity. Yet to play with the character warlord traits though, you've given me a nasty idea that I must try. The Cadian traits in particular would be insane, BS5 Sentinel? *Zealot* Sentinels? Yes please.

Armoured outflank is good but PE is what makes the biggest difference I find, esp since its quite unusual to have mobile PE with any significant range. PE Plasma cannons on a Wraithknight hurt something fierce

If it wasn't for the cost of the models, I'd like to run a few to supplement my Knights.

they fit thematically as the yeoman to my knights.
