Sure a couple of rounds friendly banter to cover over an on-topic disagreement. You should encourage that, it keeps threads polite. I am sure you aren't 100% on topic all of the time, people aren't, mods normally would turn up if it carries on or derails the thread for pages. Why the change. It is the inconsistency of adjudication that is grating frankly. Humerous asides are commonplace and inoffensive, and help break up tension, and mostly overlooked, and again mods join in too. I have seen you do so.
Now if you make a single post out of topic thread warnings are given. Honestly lighten up.
