I was going through the new Deathwatch codex and came across an entry that stated only one chapter had "been found wanting". Does anyone know which chapter this is and the lore behind it?

Yours if you don't make a DW team ASAP. Which page?

Just a guess -- The Red Hunters already have a strong tie with the Inquisition so they might be exempt.

Of course that doesn't really sound like "found wanting" but rather "too busy with other Ordos' missions"

Page 20, first sentence under the title.

...and only one of them has been found wanting, its honor forever tarnished.

It's just a fluff hook. Nothing specific.

I heard that Chapter 666 has been especially quiet on the OX front these last eight millennia.

Possibly the Black Templars if they're referring to any "mainstream" chapter.

BTs are notoriously aloof and generally dislike the Inquisition due to the BT's huge numbers.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

A Black Templar's honour is never in question.

Kill Primaris, Kill the Primarchs. They don't belong in 40K

Talasa Prime has a Kill Team led by a BT in Company Quartus (page 17), so it's not them.

How dare you question our honour?

I thought it may be this but I don't read the books or the FF roleplay supplements so I wasn't sure if there was something more in the fluff.

I would say Dark Angels because they have Xenos running around the Rock. (Watchers in the Dark)

That's just a guess though.

I cannot think of a studio Chapter that has not had at least 1 member earn Deathwatch honors. Even the Blood Ravens did that, *and* they didn't steal anything while they were at it.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Like others have said, it's just a hook, a pretty cool one though. And one of those things you can use if you are making a custom chapter I guess.

Probably just grey knights, any others that'd have reason not to if at all have history in the DW anyway. Even chapters that seem to hate the inquisition like black templar and space wolves.

Since no other chapter is supposed to know about the GK, and they are an elite within the elite like DW, I have a hard time seeing them being "found wanting."

It's because of the Honah and Gloreh that those chapter ascribe to. They dislike the deceitful, inhuman and pragmatic nature of Inquisitors, but they won't back down from a good fight.
